Is this the correct AC compressor for my 93 NSX?

Had mine on and off 2x and it looks right - but I don't know how to cross reference the Acura part with the Nippon Denso (sp?) part. You should be able to jack up the car and check and see if it has the model number from the original manufacturer in about 10 mins.

It says to contact them prior to ordering to be sure it will work - sounds like good advice and something you would want to get documented anyway IMO. Also - not this is re-manufactured vs about $375 discounted for a new one with a NSXCA membership.

The one pictured will bolt on, but you need to find out what kind of lubricant is installed in the reman. compressor. it may not be compatible with what you got now. which should be R134 system. wrong lubricant will cause a big problem down the road, and pain in the a$$ to fix properly. Why don't you find a Denso brand compressor. much better quality and warrenty.

He did - it is just remanufactured. The add states it is a "Nippon Denso 10PA15C with 4 groove clutch"

IMO the compressor is very easy to remove and would be a good candadate for a reman part (vs something like the evaporator which would kill you on the labor regardless of the warranty.

The sales reply me and said this unit uses PAG oil......

does this sound correct to you?

Thanks for everyone's advice

I believe you will need to swap the pulley. The one you get with this version has a slightly smaller diameter pulley, even hard to see, but the belt will not tighten up. Still worth it though:).

There is a thread by Ken (D'Ecosse) that describes the issue well.

Do a search and you can get the full story.

In regard to oil type, it is based on compatibility with the freon type. Check with an A/C guy to be sure, this sales person did not answer your question accurately.

What I meant was, DENSO Reman. Not Reman. Denso. Everyone has reman. denso compressor, because all nsx compressors are originally made by Denso. But DENSO also has their own lines of reman. compressor. They will be the best to get. I just replace mine 91 with DENSO reman. The one I use was for 92 INT GSR. so it comes with proper lubricant inside the compressor for R12 system. I did not want to convert mine over to R134. The clutch and coil came with the compressor and it was a exact fit. The one on ebay is anyone's guess. PAG oil is the proper lubricant for R134 system.

I would definately use this as an opportunity to convert to the cheaper and environmentaly friendly R134. My dealer charged me $200 for the entire job (parts and labor) which is about average from what I remember. There are kits to do this yourself as well if you are handy with tools and want to mess with it and save additional money.

With the money you are saving you can't go wrong and future top offs will be much less expensive as well.

If the Ebay part pans out you will have saved a ton of money - even if you have to get another pulley. Please post back what you end up doing, how it works, etc.

I just purchased the same unit from Airco along with the oil and dryer/receiver.

Their service was great. Sent money via Paypal and they mailed the unit the next day.

Larry B will be helping me to install so will let you know how we make out.

Hi Larry - I remember we were trading e-mails on this at the time!
It actually took me a while to find the thread - http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33942&highlight=airco*
- it would be disappointing if they are still shipping it with the Integra pulley since I made a big deal about it at the time.

I personally didn't discover it until after it was on, but if you are aware of the potential & look for it, not a big deal to swap the pulleys between old & "new". There's a procedure in the manual on how to do it properly to get the correct alignment.
The product itself has been fine, no worries there - was just a little disappointed I got blown off with the complaints I had, with no offer of any restitution, or even apology.
Note also that the dryer receiver I got would not fit the std. bracket either - it was fatter & a different shape, but workable with some new hardware.
I also pointed this out to Airco, so would be interested to see if they have addressed either of these issues, or if they are still just shipping Integra fitments, just because the compressor itself is the same model. You just shouldn't have to look for these issues when you are buying what is advertised as "NSX" application.
