As most of you know, I had a thermostat problem that started about 8 months ago. Was stuck open we had all decided and took a while to warm up...causing it to run a little rich and get poorer gas mileage.... anyway, I never did get it fixed. But, three days ago, I noticed that the car warmed up very quickly right to normal operating temp. It has done so everytime since...... Could it have fixed itself? Did the little NSX god cure my car and save me the $190.00 fix? It warms up quickly now and runs great... It must have unstuck itself. It's probably quite likely that it will stick again, isn't it?

Todd,

I remember this discussion a while back. It does seem kind of odd that it cured itself, but it sure sounds like it did! We may call this the "Swartzenagger (sorry Arnold for the spelling) thermostat problem": "I'll Be Back"

If it is OK for now just have it changed the next time you work on it for something else.

similar thing happened to me with a 94 mustang a few years back. i assumed the thermostat fixed itself.... thought i saved myself a few bucks. well sure enough the problem returned.. but this time it was stuck closed. it overheated on the highway... smoke was everywhere... and i was stuck in the blistering cold. with the missed billable hours at work, the tow truck fee, and not being able to shop around for a good deal... it ended up costing me alot.
"the early bird gets the worm"?
"don't put off til tomorrow what you can do today"?
"don't do drugs, stay in school"?
whatever the moral may be... don't try to save a buck on such a beautiful machine.
