Is there anyway I can make the a/c runs cooler?

Our climate here can get a little bit hot. I would like to know if there is anything that can be done to the system so it could blow colder.

There is a switch on the top of the control unit that you can check and see if its in the -1.5 position. You can also check to see it the water valve is closed when the CCU is set to the minimum temp. You may have to make an adjustment.

Make sure the condenser fins are getting plenty of air: clean, straight and not clogged.

Ensure the condenser fans are working, they like to blow fuses.

If you have the OEM fog lamps you may consider removing them, as they do in the States. The reason that USDM cars do not have fog lamps is because the of the a/c cooling requirements.

Running R-12 helps too.

If still not adequate: check your pressures and temperatures. It can get complicated at this point, but hopefully you will need not get to this step.

And most importantly: Do NOT take it your previous mechanic who decided your injector impedance was too low. (BTW: how did that turn out???)

Still running rich. I'll try checking out some mechanics who used to work in the palace and see what they would say. A/C is running on R12 and everything is working fine but in the afternoon the temperature outside can get overwhelming. Usually I don't complain but it is our fasting month so this extra heat can put strain on me a little bit especially when the road traffic is heavy. How about putting an extra condesor in front of the radiator? Would that help?

Are you running the A/C on Full Auto? I believe this defaults to using outside air. if you hit the button to re-circulate cabin air you'll probably get it a bit colder. In any case have the system checked out as per the service manual to make sure it is fully charged. As mentioned above, check the condenser fins and fuses too.

as an addition to the above, you may notice that some cars have a "max A/C" switch or dial. all this does is switch the air from outside to recirculate.

i was also going to sugest that you have your A/C system recharged as it may be a little low on refridgerant. some times a really slow leak will not be noticable untill you realize that it just dosent work like it used to.

I lived in HK where the summer is also hot, humid and the pollution is getting top mentions. A/C works great, difference is if you go for re-cirulate or fresh. BTW, replaced all the major a/c compoents in the past 18 months on a '91.
All is working fine, no complaints.

Saw a few Xs in our local club that has the vented hood, owners mentioned the airflow is better and their feets felt kooler but that's an expensive addition.
