I am getting a tubi that is for 97+. I was on the comptech web site and notice that they offer two exhausts for later cars. One for 95-99 and the other for 00-01. Is there a difference? Will the tubi fit my 2001?

thanks

There is a slight length difference due to a cat change. However, the connecting pipes that we are providing with your kit are for your car's requirements, and it will fit.

Ok.. I think I have all my ducks in a row. I have jack stands, wobble extensions, breaker bar, torque wrench, 14mm 6pt regular and deep sockets, liquid wrench, silicon spray. Is there anything else I should have on hand? How about some sort of gasket sealer? I read one post about an exhaust leaking after installation and he sealed it with some black tarry stuff. Do I need that?

As you can tell.. I'm getting anxious. heheh

No need for "black tarry stuff". Just be extremely careful with the liquid wrench and silicone spray. I'm not sure about the liquid wrench, but the silicone will destroy your oxygen sensors.

Mike,

I have only done this on my 1991, and I used the OEM gaskets. If when you mate up the right flange to the cat, if it appears to not seal correctly, I have some pics of what to do. Better yet, private me, and I will tell you what to look for before you get the car apart.

Your car does have two 02 sensors, unlike mine, so one is after the cat. I believe this is the one Chuck is keeping you mindful of.

Just use a "rust" buster localized on the nuts only. I would strongly suggest PBBlaster, it is no contest vs. liquid wrench in my experience. (Keep your eyes away when spraying, and it has an awful smell.)
