Is there any specialized loan companies for exotics that would be better to use than my credit union? Basically any companies that acknowledge the values of these cars when lending.

thanks all,

Hi Chad,

I'm using Capital One Auto Finance to finance an NSX, when I find one...=)
They seem to have the fewest restrictions, as far as the age of the vehicle, mileage, private seller vs. dealer, salvaged or clean title, they'll finance it all. I used them before on my other car, and because their rates are a bit higher than other places, I refinanced the loan through wfsexpress to get the better rate. I'd prefer to go straight to wfsexpress because they offer really good rates, but they do not do person to person transactions...

Hope this helps...

Wow! what a fast reply, 2 minutes flat. Thanks for your input. I will definitely look into capital one! Oh, this is going to be for a 91-92ish so they will definitely not like the old age.

There is no restriction on the age of the vehicle. I too am looking for a 91-92, unless of course a newer one comes along within my price range, which is highly unlikely...=)

Capital One is hassle free, but your credit better be outstanding. JJ Best is a private lender that also does competitive loans for exotics up to 12 years.

Hi QWKSLVR, my credit is actually not outstanding. Used to be, but I had some really really bad investments bite me in the butt. So my credit is definitely not outstanding. But I did use Capital One credit cards to reestablish my credit. Perhaps that is why they approved my loan...

Hey , you might want to try Hagerty the collect car issurance people. I have a couple of cars insured with them and they said they would finance my NSX as well as insure it. Very reasonalbe prices. Not sure if you have to have both because it wouldn't work as a daily driver.

Capital One is a great way to finance an older NSX. Their rates are higher though.

I sold my M3 to a guy who used Capital One and then after getting the car, he re-financed through his credit union (wouldn't let him buy out of state) and got a much better rate.

Hi Matt_337,

I thought I was the only genius who uses Capital One to acquire the vehicle, and then refinance with a different institution for a more reasonable rate...=)

It really is a great approach towards financing an older vehicle most financial institution won't touch...

viet at addison avenue can set you up with a loan for an exotic like our older NSX and STILL get you a GREAT interest rate, like 4%-7%. Terms are like any other car, 4 years up to... 12 even I believe.

Anyone else at addison would just look or talk to you like you have no idea what you're talking about possibly. So gotta give Viet Lee a buzz.

Could you just do open (or tap an existing) ELOC on your house? Generally pretty good rates and the interest is deductible. This has been my approach for every car we haven't paid cash for over the last many years.

I don't own a home to be able to do that on. I'm serving in the air force in florida and have less than 2yrs left till my enlistment is up so we didn't buy a house.

Thanks for all the help though guys, I think I'll check out what Hagerty and capitol one have to say.

Can't do much better than Pen Fed. 6.04% you will have instant approval and $ within days. No hassle whatsoever. *I do not work for pen fed, but have know many NSX owners who use them.

I used Purdue Employees Credit Union for mine, and will use them again. They, as well as most Credit Unions, tier your interest rate by your credit and not by the year of the vehicle. Terms up to 72 months.

You can apply over the phone, then:

They fax you docs to sign.
You fax them back.
They overnight you a check.

Pretty easy process.
