It isn't new, but considering some of the "lively" discussions on the merits of purchasing a NSX...figured some might find it worth reading....enjoy.

2005 Acura NSX Test Drive
A Ferrari for the Real World
The iconic Acura NSX is at the end of an impressive 15-year life cycle, but this ultrarare supercar still dazzles.

Is the NSX for You?

Buy This Vehicle If You want a supercar that stuns onlookers, is a spirited performer and practical enough for daily use; you own a couple of supercars already and want another one; you'd like to own the last model-year of an ultraexclusive automotive icon; you think Porsches are too common.

Keep Looking If You base a car's value on technical specs; you want bragging rights; you need a back seat; you don't want to own one of the most expensive vehicles on the market to insure (see our article on the 10 most expensive vehicles to insure); paying $89,000 for a car that hasn't changed in 15 years seems dumb to you.

Who Fits? Neither tall people (unless the removable roof panel is off) nor the portly.

Options Worth Splurging On There are literally no options. Available accessories include a trunk mat ($55), an extra magazine for the CD changer ($119) and a car cover ($295).

Closest Competitors Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Ferrari F430
Lamborghini Gallardo
Maserati GranSport
Porsche 911

NSX Trivia As of June, no women had registered a new Acura NSX in the United States this year. Read the Forbes.com feature on The Best-Selling Cars by Gender. (this was in the article.... )

The glassy paint finish seemed of higher quality than that of a Ferrari F430.

The NSX has one of the best paintjobs from a factory ever, period. Something is done right when a 15 y.o. NSX has better paint than a 3 y.o. family car.

That is an impressive list of competitors!
