Is my rear view mirror too high?

The passenger side sun visor cannot fold down all the way because it hits the rear view mirror. The drivers side will clear it because of how the mirrir is tilted towards the driver? Was the mirror applied incorrectly? Should it be moved down an inch so that the sunvisor clears it?

Thanks

I ride with passengers quite regularly and have never noticed this to be a problem...

It does this no matter what angle your mirror is?

if the mirror is angled correctly for the driver to see out the back, the thin "tail" of the passenger sun visor will hit the mirror causing the adjustment to change.. which is a pain. If my mirror were .5 inches lower it would clear. If its not normal, its hard to believe the car was assembled with this defect.

I doubt it was a defect.even with a car like the NSX we have all experienced the rear view mirror loosing its bond to the windshield.it probably came off at some point before you got it and they placed it a little off center.I did not check what year your car is.if you are the first owner that would perplex me,my mirror clears well but I know it has been recemented on as it does not want to tilt as far over as it should for veiwing behind driver side rear

Mine is a '91, so it's a coupe. If I had an NSX-T, I would be happy to tell you whether my passenger visor clears the RV mirror, but I haven't told you one way or the other because it won't help you to find out whether coupe visors have this problem. Sorry I can't help.

Mike, I just went out to my garage and checked my car, yellow like yours and bought new in 1999. There is a very small clearance between the visor and the mirror if the mirror is perfectly horizontal when set, but the visor does not touch the mirror. I couldn't begin to guess what the problem is with yours, but I believe you are right, it is not normal.
