Is it safe to use plastic cement to cover this brake reservoir?

Any suggestion what type of glue would be safe to use. Will it block the brake passage incase the glue melt?

I think the first question is WHY do you feel the need to cover it with plastic? is it leaking?

and if you use too thin of a plastic to cover it, might melt the plastic cover have you ever felt one after driving? pretty hot. well mine is anyway

I suggest if its clicking or making noise and you dont want to fix it correctly just unplug it.

they sell rebuilt kits on prime

good luck

Most plastic cements melt the plastic to create a good bond. With that said I think the reservoirs are made of HDPE(high density polyethylene) or similar(waxy feeling plastics) which not much will stick to. Unless it is leaking I would leave it alone. If it is leaking, order a new reservoir and replace it.

You could cover it with a 2-part epoxy glue and it wouldn't hurt it. I don't know what you're trying to accomplish (it might make it look shiny and new )? By the look of that fluid it needs to be changed.

Thanks guys. It is not leaking yet. Just a precautionary measure. I will check how much a replacement reservoir cost and how to remove it from the assembly. The problem arised when I use the type-r hood. Direct sun exposure cooked the reservoir. Similar problem I had when I removed the engine cover causing the coolant bottle to crack.

still not too late...

In such instances, perhaps slip-on fluid reservoir "cozies" may have been the way to go (for the clutch & brake fluid reservoirs) & the NSX-R "sleeve" (for the coolant-overflow reservoir).
