Ipod MP3 pre-amp input for Bose Stereo

I am wondering if anyone knows how I can hook up my Ipod MP3 player to my stock '96 NSX Bose stereo. (Cassette converters suck) I do not have a cd player installed.

I would think the CD player harness/input wires would be adaptable for a mini plug pre-amp input. I would anticipate the main problem would be getting the Bose stereo unit to recognise the Ipod and let it play through the CD mode.

Has anyone been down this road?

Thanks, Bruce:cool:

Thanks, Ojas...

What is it about your solution do you not like?

I read some of the other posts and someone said that the PIE adapter did not work well.

The best solution I have seen seems to be the Blitzsafe HON/ALP DMX V.1D. Is there anyone out there that has used that one?

Only what I mentioned in the post:
1) Since I'm only switching the audio input, the CD-changer continues to play even when you switch to iPOD.
2) When switched to iPOD: audio only comes thru if CD-changer is playing a disc. This is because the head unit (?) mutes audio when the CD-changer is not playing a disc (my best guess). Not only does this mean you must have at least one disc in the changer to listen to your iPOD, but when the disc is finished playing and changer is loading the next disc, there's a few seconds where there is no audio.
Other than that, it works fine and is very easily reversible, if I decide to remove it.

However, I too am curious about feedback on the Blitzsafe adapter.
