Yes it works well. I bought a connector from eBay. SOS also sells them. The connector plugs into the factory harness where the OEM deck used to. You can wire a headphone cable straight to it. I used that for a while and recently switched to using a Bluetooth kit (Kinivo) running through a ground-loop eliminator to the harness connector.
You just need to connect power to the power-antenna wire on the harness to turn the amps on. I believe it's the blue wire, which I connected to the switched power wire (red) so the amps are on whenever the car is on.
