Intermittent problem with brakes & A/C

I have had two weird problems with '91 NSX. While driving slow (around 10 - 15 mph) and hitting a small bump in the road, my brake petal has gone all the way down to the floor (mushy) for about 2 or 3 seconds and then recovers. It has done this twice in the past 2 weeks.

The other problem is with the A/C. Everything works fine except periodically the blower will only work in the high settting. I have read that there is a problem with the power transistor. I know there is a TSB on it. Maybe I can get it goodwilled.

Has anyone else experienced these problems?

Kipp, don't know about the brake, but as far as the blower, sounds like it's about to be shot in & it will stay on full blast when it goes completely. I think it's just considered wear & tear since it is a '91. The part is a actually the blower resistor & can be ordered from Ray laks Acura. Ask for Tim 1-716-826-4109 & describe the symptom. 150-175 & can be replaced yourself. It plugs in behind the spare tire & you'll have to loosen anything that is in its way otherwise you won't be able to reach & plug it in place.

As for the brakes, may be a bleed of the brake fluid as there may be an air bubble in the lines?

I doubt that you can get goodwill coverage on a '91, but I'm sure the folks at Goodson Acura (home of the NSX Service Girl) can get it fixed for you.

So far Susan at Goodson has been a huge help. I'm taking my NSX in on Jan 7th for a 60K service, timing belt & water pump. They are also going to check the A/C.

Make sure they check the brakes too!

Could be a problem with your shocks, making the antilock kick in, if your tires leave the road while braking.

Check your master cylinder for leakage too. Although your symptoms are not indicative of a leak your car is old enough to warrant checking. And let us know what they find out (both brakes and A/C) in case we have similar problems.

Could'nt it simply be abs kicking on and getting confused so to speak over bumps? If someone is not used to abs the activation of abs may be unsetling in the dry over rippling pavement.
