If you ever need to replace an interior handle (a not uncommon problem), the original screws are hard to remove because Acura uses the equivalent of Loctite on them. And, make sure to use a #0 Philips screwdriver because a #1 or larger screwdriver bit will strip the head - this warning comes from experience:frown:.

Anyway, I found a company - http://www.microfasteners.com/catalog/products/MET.cfm
- that sells replacement screws, but in stainless steel only (vs the original black oxide). The needed size is M2.5x6mm. They come in bags of 50 for $3.10, so I have now have 46 spares.

Service was fast, probably because they are located within about 25 miles of me. I ordered the screws online yesterday and they arrived today.

Do you know where to get the handle (whole) assembly? Mine sticks in open position and must be pushed back each time.

My problem is not that part. I believe I need the interior handle assembly. There is a small pin inside the mechanism which does not slide back properly when the handle is pulled to open the door from the inside. I oiled it a few times but when it dries it starts sticking again. Unfortunately it does not look like the pin only is separate from the entire mechanism.

Without a picture to see what is missing, perhaps the spring on the handle assembly is missing? How do you open the door without the handle there?? The spring attaches to the lower handle hinge. On my '96, a cable comes from the "innards" of the door to the handle assembly. At the handle end of my '96, I don't see any "pins" that slide.

The moving handle itself (available froom SOS at $345 per pair in aluminum, original black color on special order)attaches to upper and lower hinges (lower hinge available from SOS for 45 ea, $85/L-R pair) or you can buy the whole assembly - the part that attaches with 8 large screws and includes the fixed handle to pull the door closed as well as the moving handle to open/unlatch the door. Those discount at about $325 each OEM.

My screws cost me $3.10 plus $4 postage for 50, or 14 cents each. Let me know if you want some. Tack on $1 for postage. I'll keep some spares, but I don't need 42 extras.
