Out if curiosity: have you spoken with HRTuning at all regarding what you are doing as they may have interest in your efforts?

I do understand that the C engine ISR protocols may differ from the B/H/F OBD1, however it occurred to me while reading this thread that Neptune(HRTuning) may have strong interest in what you are doing as it fills a gap in their platform if they are able to support C series.

This could abstract you from hardware concerns as well.
