Interest in Slotted, Cross drilled - Rotor buy

OK. friend of mine in California who has been selling these asked me to help him break into the community with the following products.

He has been doing this for several years now. and has been making some for some Corvette club that regularly track in the California area. His reviews were great for the rotors he made,(materials were manufactured in Canada).

I asked him to use Bradi ones though.

Gauging interest in this. There will be different designs, zinc plating included. optional gold and black extra. Any opinions or thoughts appreciated. We're suggesting 5 buys at a time. ~265-275 + shipping

Anyway these can be sent to me from a Canadian address so they wouldnt have to cross the border in shipping to Toronto?

Id be in if for cross drilled if no cracking. Slotted otherwise.

I'd be interested in the slotted.

i like cross drilled if they won't crack. Is there a performance difference(slotted/cross-drilled)?

cross drilled probably gets cooler faster? I have no research to back this up. but other wise, they look cool as heck:)

If The Price Is Right...

Perhaps I can offer some insights as I have had some experience w/ the various "cross-drilled/slotted" rotors available by fabricators...

The $200'ish cross-drilled/slotted ones (2front, 2rear, zinc-plated, '91-'96 NSX specific) are from brake-disc blanks from China.

The $245'ish cross-drilled/slotted ones (2front, 2rear, zinc-plated, '91-'96 NSX specific) are from brake-disc blanks supposedly from Canada but actually are from Mexico, marketed under the name BRADI.

The $280'ish cross-drilled/slotted ones (2front, 2rear, zinc-plated, '91-'96 NSX specific) are from brake-disc blanks supposedly from "Italy" but actually from Canada, marketed under the name BREMBO but manufactured under BRADI (make sense  )

Also, S/H for these ranges $30-35, as they are rather heavy.

All three types are purchased as blanks by the fabricator who then machines in grooves for the 'slots' and drills in a pattern for the 'cross-drill' look. I don't have experience w/ the "BREMBO" fabricated blanks, but the "no-name" and the "BRADI" ones have been ok for street use, and even enthusiastic/spirited driving. If you 'search' the forums, you'll see how others have fared w/ them (no one has had any particularly bad experiences). Regarding cross-drilled/slotted rotors being beneficial, hardly noticable if even so... more for looks this day & age! Back in the day, heat/gases needed to be quickly dissipated to prevent overheating & fade, thus grooves were machined in and holes were drilled to let gases escape and improve cooling.

BREMBO does make cross-drilled rotors. They come in a bronze-metallic color, they are about $400'ish+ for a set of front & rear. They are manufactured w/ the 'holes', not drilling them after the rotor is forged (or cast?). These are available from BREMBO affiliated retailers.

I've spoken to 3-4 fabricators out in the Cali area... seems like everyone's operation is more-or-less similar regarding the "cross-drilled/slotted" rotors.

Examples from Ebay:

$239 + free S/H (BREMBO front & rear cross-drilled/slotted):

Do you have some more detailed info on what is available? Is there a dealer for us Canadians? Shipping and Duty is sometimes expensive as SPA_S2000 was mentioning? I'm in the market for some new brake I still have my orginal rotors front/rear on my 1991. I was orginally looking at StopTech 2 piece OEM style, maybe hawk pads, and changing to stainless steel flex lines. I believe SOS and Dail both carry them, as well as others. Any group deals on the stoptech versions?

OK.

here are some pics of my Bradi slotted and drilled.
Please talk to Vic and refer to this thread so he knows your a Prime member. can do both or whichever you like, same price for us. They are also zinc coated free for the silver finish. black and gold also available for extra charge.

He has 90 days warranty. I think he excludes drilled for track use though.

www.trinetmotorsports.com - ask for Vic.

show me the price for 97+ :) slotted only.

^^^^Ditto!^^^^ I would definately be interested in slotted only or slotted and x-drilled as well. Most of the ones for 97+ I seen are upwards of $900 and up. I notice that the 97+ rotors are like 1/3 or 1/2 of a full brake upgrade (including calipers, etc., depending on which brand you go with), doesn't make sense. I mean I know that the brake system on the pre 97's are smaller. Why do the manufacturers of aftermarket rotors charge twice as much for the 97+ ones, just doesn't make sense. The materials used on 97+ rotors couldn't be that much more superior for the justification of the higher price. Could someone enlighten me on this?

whoops looking at the thread... please call Vic as I specifically only asked about the '91-96 Pricing. Please call him to make sure.

I have the Bradi rotors with carbotech pads and the set-up on my CTSC car has been nothing short of wonderful. The best part is; I got 4 rotors and pads on EBAY for $110-BRAND NEW! Pads are slightly squicky but stop on a dime.

no dice, homey...

If that's for '91-'96 NSX applications (2-front, 2-rear slotted/cross-drilled Bradi rotors), that's TOO much... especially as a group-buy, fughettbaoutit!

Less than $200 + s/h on Ebay w/o a Group-Buy...

However, the Iron Crosses are cool (on the web-site)... be ideal for my Panzer-NSX, jawohl...

I'd like to know the price(97+) also.

Put me on that list as well.

Re: no dice, homey...

I've spoken to Vic about this and he has checked on the pricing for the BRADIs and he said those on EBAY are definitely from CHINA. IF YOU guys want those, he can get those too, but will not guarantee them, if all your concerned about is price. He has spoken to his BREMBO distributor and has made sure that there is no way anyone can offer that price for true BRADI. What you stated in your first post is in fact true, but what your telling me now is that you want the China type rotors...

He has his own BRAND rotors manufactured in CANADA as well. I have asked for pricing on these... since the Corvette club local to him have used it for track purposes,(Slotted only),and has had good reviews on them, this might be an alternative for the ones that think this is too much money.

For the BRADI brand. He has agreed to group buy 5 at a time for $255 + shipping. This is w/ a 90 day Guarantee. Please check other retailers to see if they will truly guarantee your purchase after you put it on....

97 and up rotors still getting pricing on.
