In the article they did remove the "butterfly valves" .

But stated that it did not hurt the idle or power.  They thought that the system may have been designed for emissions reasons not performance.

Part of the reason I want to find the site again is to see exactly what they did and how it changed engine performance.

It was more than the extrude honing talked about on some sites.
