Perfect timing. Who should I say recommended him?

farmers is a rip. I am insured by mercury, and my insurance premiums dropped by 40%.

Eddie VS. Ediddy!

Insurance premiums mean nothing without a locale! I don't know much about insurance, but it's my understanding that each company has different algorithms to determine the risk (and therefore cost) to insure you - and location is a MAJOR factor.

I'll insure you for 3 dollars, if you promise to keep your car garaged in Mozambique, driven less than .001 mile a year! :) Of course it only covers moving incidents. Oh, and the premium is 1 cent!! But your monthly cost... :)

I insure my car for under 100 bux a month, like many others on here. It helps to insure it in OC instead of LA!

Sorry, too much Knob Creek tonite

I had farmers for many years until I got the NSX.. The rate on the NSX was horrible. I basically wanted to refuse the policy. but they stuck me with 2 months of coverage anyways. $100 a month. total rip.. so I had to switch all my cars to Wawanesa.

I'm w/ Farmers. My rates are extremely high despite my clean driving record. I'm told it's because the NSX is in the highest performance car bracket and also because of my So-Cal location. Having said this, I'm very pleased w/ the service I've received. When someone ran into me and totaled my car ( Not the NSX ), Farmers were very prompt in getting me through the post accident hassles. They're expensive, but you do get what you pay for.

I heard Mercury is good for rates only. Wait until you have to file a claim.

I am not here to debate with anyone about insurance. I have insurance with this guy and he has given me great rates and outstanding service. So if you call Chris just say eddie referred you. If you guys have your own insurance great, I am simply trying to help people on here to at least have a choice to compare insurance rates.

didn't mean to offend anyone:confused: Just offering some ideas.

No offense taken guys I just wanted to make it clear that I am not here to debate and get into a pissing contest about insurance. I am sure everyone has different coverages with different companys. Farmers has gone down in rates recently but remember its all based on different factors.......where you live and how many cars are you insuring etc. My car is listed as a pleasure vehicle so its not high like a daily driver for other people. My nsx insurance has gone down to $483.00 for 6 months now.

It doesn't hurt to call and compare. Thanks for the input guys and sharing your side.

Wawanesa = $65 / month :biggrin:

I am thinking about switching to Wawanesa. They do have very good rates, but service is the most important. Anyone cares to share their experiences?

Have not heard anything positive about Mercury for their services.

Wawa - No doubt.
I'm about 91 bucks a month for full coverage on the X and a '06 full size GMC 4X4.
I have never had a claim with them but some friends have and said it was the smoothest they have ever done.

PS - no one has come close on my home ins with them either.

I know I got great coverage and no problem for claims if I have any problems......sure you can pay $10 bucks a month with GEICO but what kind of coverage do you really get and service? Well I had Mercury, Allstate, State Farm, and other ones so I am pretty happy where I am at. Good luck to the rest of you guys. Wawanesa seems to be another good alternative so anyone that wrecks their car let us know. I want to hear how the service and coverage is.

I just switched from Mercury Insurance to Wawanesa and my rate dropped ~$600 for the exact same coverage.

Here are my stats:
Male
27 years old
0 tickets, 0 accidents
Garaged in Long Beach, CA
Engineer discount
2001 VW Jetta @ 15,000 miles per year
1991 NSX @ 3000 miles per year (probably a little more this yerar ) added coverage for custom wheels
$100k/$300k/$100k
Comp and Collision
Uninsured Motorist coverage
$500 Deductable
Full coverage, but no towing and no rental reimbursement
~$1400 per year (for both cars).
Mercury was about ~$2000 when I left them, 21st, AAA, and a few others quoted me $2400 per year.

I haven't heard anything about making claims with Wawanesa yet. I hope they are good.

Claims against Wawanesa, however, I heard are nightmares. I've had friends that have been hit by people with Wawanesa coverage and it takes them forever to get reimbursed.

FWIW, I've had Farmers for years and my agent recommended I insure my NSX with Mid-Century (another Farmers company); I got a killer rate:biggrin:

If you've got Farmers coverage already, call your agent and ask whether a switch to Mid-Century makes sense for you.

I've had Wawanesa for about 10ys. I don't think you'll find a better rate. However; they only accept people with good driving records...thus the lower rates. My NSX is about $60/mth., with much higher than normal liability limits and I have it listed of course as a pleasure vehicle. We've had one claim (wifie crashed it) of about $6k on a Honda Civic about 6yrs. ago, and a total loss claim (wifie flipped it ) on a Mitsubishi Montero about 3yrs. ago. The speed and ease of service could not have been better.
As the story goes. Several years ago a friend of a friend had filed a small claim after a fender bender. The claims adjuster inspected the car, looked up part numbers and prices on his lap top, and printed out a settlement check on the spot! How's that for service!
Some companies will not insure the NSX because it's a sports car. My buddy had to swithch companies when he wanted to insure his 996TT. However this is not the case with Wawa. If you drive an NSX take advantage of this before things possibly change.

Very comforting news! It has been said! "Wawanizzle is da shizzle!"
