I just complete the paper work today for my NSX and I didn't really thought about the insurance until the bank started ask for it. I am currently under insured by mercury they quote me for about 1300 half a year, but when I put it under my wife's name it gets to about 983 half a year. (My wife's got better record) just curious how much you guys pay for insurance.

Yes, you two are talking about having bought a similiar car at the same time. 95 blue w/ about 40k in l.a. what are the chances of that

I got mine in Sacramento from a dealership called M & S Auto. my NSX got 491XX miles.

come on no body wants to share. I am hoping to find a cheaper insurance company for my household with this thread.
I am no troll, i guess I am just to excited to meet the group with all these questions

no,I am the owner of that NSX, I sent out the cashiers check yesterday and finished all the paper work today. If you guys want I can show you the dmv proof of sale, to make you guys feel more confortable. I am not nautica918,

Get a quote from Wawanesa Insurance. A Canadian company serving California and Oregon. Well known in the insurance industry. I came on board with them last year and couldn't be happier. They only insure drivers that have only one point or less on their driving record. Your rate will vary where you live.

My rate with collision and comprehensive coverage (including coverage for open track/driving school/autocross events) is $1100/year for my '91 NSX and '01 GSR. My brother and other NSX members in the area have Wawanesa. They had filed claims and all were handled professionally without any problems. Definitely worth checking out.

anyway here is copy of my retail installment sale contract. on the right hand corner it tells you the name of the dealer and below that it give you the vin of my nsx. didn't know I have to go through this to become a member.

NSXWIND,

I pay around $950 for the whole year or $475 half a year from Wawanesa Insurance. I have the second car as a commuter car, I think this is the difference. The $950 per year is based on $200 deductible not $500. I hope this help. Oh almost forgot, my NSX is a 94 with $35,000.

Max

Grundy Collector Car Insurance..they use
an "agreed value" formula. I use $60K and pay about $700 a year for full coverage although I think I'm limited to 5K miles a year.

I'm in MD so I think my rates might be a little lower based on the geography alone. I'm 35 with no tickets, no accidents, State Farm, 7500 miles a year, 500 deductable, $1200 a year. My 99 acura CL was a $1000 a year (12.5k a year) so it was only about $200 more for my 95 NSX. Multicar discount took $200 of the CL so it dropped to $800 a year.

Wow, sounds like I am paying too much for my insurance. in order to get better rate, I raised my deductible to 1000. (I want to go higher but loan company wouldn't let me) come to think of it, insurance never ask me the sales price of the car and the mileage I need for work. 983 is the price for my nsx only, my wife is paying 371 for her owner car, and as for my daily drive I am paying 360. (1/2 year) damn.................. I need to get lower rate. I didn't even tell my wife the rate for NSX, because this was one of the reason she strongly discourage me to get an nsx. I think my wife will be very very very upset when she gets the bill for insurance...

$2600 per year here in NYC. 33, married, SPOTLESS driving record, good driver discount, defensive driving class discount, multi-car discount. This is all with Geico, but I've shopped around and no other company can do much better. This is for 300/500 with $1000 deductibles and no extras (like glass, etc.) - just comprehensive and collision. 2003 NSX

It seems like NYC has the worst insurance rates in the country by about 15-200%

This is getting ridiculous. New topics get re-opened about insurance rates more than any other subject. Can't anyone here use the search? Remember the "search" function - it's your friend. :D You can find it at the top of your screen, that button that looks like this:

And it can find you such golden oldies as...

Finally, to quote Mr. nsxtasy:

"Rates are going to vary depending on company, state, town, age, driving record, coverages and limits, etc.

There's a very easy way to find out how much it will cost for you to insure an NSX. Just call your insurance company and ask. They can tell you, even without you having to buy the car. Or you can check an online service such as http://www.insweb.com"

The scary thing is:

1) I'm probably in a lot of those threads

2) The problem is so ridiculous that I think the Forums Nazi has that post ready in a template! Just copy and paste!

Thank you Forums Nazi, as always, you are wise :D

I pay less for a full year than what you were quoted for a half year. Mine is about $1050 a year through State Farm for your typical full coverage $500 deductable. I have no miles limmit. However, it varies gereatly depending on the carrier and area you are located.

Same terrific grammar. If I were a betting man.... :p

OMFG, i don't know what is it with you . I am not that dude you are talking about. If I have to go through this every time when I post my opinion, I don't think I want to be part of this. for those that has this question what do you want from me. Like I have mentioned from the previous post, I will be getting my nsx around this weekend. When that happen I'll post some pictures. does that satisfied you?

I guess after all mine isn't all that bad. I have always heard Geico cost more than other leading insurance company. i don't know if NY’s got a company call AIS, AIS is a broker for insurance, they will search the best rate for you. that's how I end up with Mercury for my daily drive.

I think it depends on how high you want your coverage to be. Because I only pay $471 for 6 months but I have low coverage 25k/50k + 50K property only

1992
ACURA
NSX Coverages Amounts of Insurance Premium
Bodily Injury $25,000/50,000 $63
Property Damage $50,000 $50
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury $25,000/50,000 $13
Uninsured Motorist Collision Deductible Waiver $1,000 $6
Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Not Selected $0
Comprehensive Deductible $1,000 $140
Collision Deductible $1,000 $199
Towing and Labor Included $0
Car Rental Reimbursement Not Selected $0
Excess Medical Not Selected $0
Additional Equipment $1,000 $0
Premium For This Vehicle $471

That was the last statement. I just renew it last night and It was only $393 for 6-months with same coverage as above. I guess It got cheaper since I just got married.
