Installing cat back exhaust

The pipes that connect to the catalytic converter, on a 2000 NSX-T, are flared to fit a donut type of gasket. The pipes on the Arc Titanium cat-back exhaust that connect to the factory catalytic converter are made to fit a flat type of gasket. Does anyone out there know if this connection will work. Should the Arc Titanium elbows also have a donut type of gasket rather than the flat type of gasket? Will there be any problems trying to fit the flat gasket to the factory donut gasket?

Thanks.

Without seeing what you actually have it's hard to say. First, did this exhaust come with a flat type gasket or is this your assumption by looking at it. The earlier stock NSX muffler has flat, 3-bolt flanges as well. After the cat there is 2-bolt flange which connects to a short piece of exhaust, followed by the 3-bolt flange. I would try using the old gasket first but I think the flat type will work. I would suggest incremently tighten the 3 bolts evenly for a good seal. The 2 bolt flange, which is spring loaded, seems to absorb most of the stress which may ordinarily cause leaks on this 3-bolt flange if one were to use a flat type.

Yes, the exhaust came with a flat type of gasket with two bolt holes. There is a very short pipe coming out of the cat before it attaches to the muffler assembly. This is what I am referring to as being donut shaped whereas the elbow that came with the ARC is flat. I don't know what you are referring to when you speak about the 3 bolt flange. The flange that is donut shaped is the spring loaded 2 bolt flange and the flange for the ARC is a flat 2 bolt flange. The person that looked at the 2 bolt flat flange gasket did not think that the fit would be very good against the 2 bolt donut flange gasket (OEM) on the car. That is the basis of my question - will the flat type of flange gasket on the Arc mount properly to the donut type of OEM flange gasket?
