inside door handle

Ok any suggestion on what to do if my driver's side door handle is broken, not the handle itself but the connection to open the door. I was told by the dealer its $500 bucks.

Are you sure it's the handle itself or that when you pull on the handle the door does not unlock/open? If the latter, then you can adjust the door cable (which has 3 slot adjustments) by taking the triangular leather padding off and reaching in there to adjust it. You can use the FAQ DIY under how to remove the door panel to get to the speakers
