I have a small crack on my rear inner fender well. Is this hard to replace? What does the part cost? Is "inner fender well" the correct name?

Thanks - Ed

Have you looked in the service manual - either your own copy (which you should have, if you plan to work on your own car) or the electronic one on this site?

You can look up part names, numbers, and prices on various sites that sell Acura parts, such as the one for Delray Acura.

The rear passenger fender well is cracked on my car too, right near a screw that holds it to the sheetmetal. At first I thought it was something the previous owner did to the car, or poor repair. You having the same problem makes me wonder if others have had the same problem, and or factory defect.

Is it near a screw hole ? Are you the original owner ? Any appearance of any damage in that area that could have caused it ?

Ive thought about replacing my fender well liner but have pretty much decided against it. If you go through with it, let us know how much it cost and how hard replacement was for you.

Replacement of these parts is very easy & not hugely expensive if you buy them from a discount retailer. The liners are ~ $90 each and the front fender front covers (the louvred ones) are ~ $50 each. I guess it's a lot of you replace them all at once though! Don't really understand the pricing - the louvered ones seem much more comples yet are almost half the price - go figure?

To remove the buttons, you push the center pin in till it pops, then you can pull the whole button out. To replace, you actually pull the pin out from flush about ~ 1/8" , then push the button in the hole and then push the pin in to be flush with the surface to lock it. Make sure you hold the button in the hole with the fender insert tight up against the body flange before you pop the pin in.

Front right Fender Liner ..... 74101-SL0-505
Front Right Cover ..............74102-SL0-020 (the louvered part)
Front left Fender Liner ........74151-SL0-505
Front Right Cover...............74152-SLO-020 (the louvered part)
Rear Right Fender Liner........74701-SL0-000
Rear Left Fender Liner..........74751-SL0-000

If you break any of the button clips, they are 91545-SE0-003

When I order replacement fender liners for my 91, they were replaced by some newer versions which are MUCH better than the original ones.

The new version has a few NEW anchor points that clip to the inner lip of the fender (at least for my 91) and are positioned to hold the liner snugglier to the outside rim of the fender.

Order a few button clips while you are at it. They tend to become brittle over time and loose their retention strength. Not cheap though... about $4 a piece.

Thanks for the great response. I will order them and give it a try.

I only need one but fear when I replace the one, the others will look bad. Oh well, I have new wheels coming, new tires, so I might as well replace these.
