I'm looking for some info on changing the flip up headlamps in my '01 to either the newer style ('02+) or some kind of aftermarket headlamp. I saw a carbon fiber kit on ebay a while back, but they didn't have any pictures of any installed kits so I took a pass on that.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Ok now to your question

There are many ways to go about changing the flip ups to the new style.
Some people bought the new housings and Hids and modified the stock bumper and hood to work with the new style lights. Some just went out and bought the 02+ hood, bumper and lights and did it that way. Another option is the ScienceOfSpeed.com kit.

If you did a quick search this thread would have turned up with photos and answers probably to all your questions.

Good luck with your choice.

Well, I was looking for a cheaper solution that still looks good. $5-7K for a complete assembly is more than I want to pay for simple vanity. The kit that I saw on ebay can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/NSX-91-01-CARBON...021261617QQcategoryZ33710QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

When I emailed them and asked for pictures, they said that they didn't have any installed pictures which makes me quite leery about the kit.

I guess I should be a bit more specific about my request. Is there any kind of drop in headlight assembly - preferably in HID - for a '01 NSX-T? I'm not really interested in changing the shape/styling of the car. I just hate the pop up headlights.

also btw, if you follow the search you'll find that the headlight swap actually needs quite a few parts other than new headlights/hood/bumper,
you need new bumper support and custom brackets etc

Another option is you can get the OEM 02 headlights and do what jin1976 did to keep the stock bumper. You will have to modify the mounting area for the 02 headlights to fit and procure a 02 hood. However, it is my understanding that the GT-ONE headlights (similar to 02 headlights) fit in the stock headlight mounting location without any modification to it.

There is a good explanation of this on the Route-KS website.

some kind of aftermarket headlamp

The geometry of the NSX just doesn't work out well for inset headlights, which is why the 2002 ones are quite a bit forward.

The stock projector lights are *quite good*, they can be made better with a HID kit (ping whiteNSX).

I suspect you will be unhappy with the width of your beam pattern for street driving if you go with inset ones. And a bit poorer too..
