The US Grand Prix is right around the corner. Who is going? I will be out Thursday night. Anyone want to meet up and have a beer?

Hey,

I'm driving down from Canada thursday for the USGP.

There are less than a handful of NSX's up here in my area and I was wondering if you knew of any NSX club meets are any place on race weekend where I would be able to see some NSXs up close.

I'm sure there will be a tonne of beautiful cars in town that weekend period, but if you knew of any places in particular I'd greatly appreciate it, since I've never been to Indianapolis before, let alone on a race weekend.

Thanks

i will be flying out wedensday. i'll be there for pit walk, practice, qualifying and race weekend.

i'd love to take you up on that beer offer, but i'm still only 20 :(

anyone else going to the race?

BTW, what seats did you guys purchase? this will be my first race event ever, and i don't really know what are good seats at indy.

i'm debating between corner 6 terrace or corner 10 terrace. or maybe H stands??? anyone got any inputs??? reply pretty fast.. each spot are turns so i think they will have a lot of overtaking.. altho i'm not familar with the USGP.

I got seats fairly high up in the North vista, in the section closest to the northwest vista.

I have no idea how good those are since I've never been to Indy or any GP before.

I've heard they're pretty good though, and you get a good view of the first six or seven corners of the track.

Damn you americans and your 21 year old drinking age.
I've been legal up here for two years, but now if there's something cool going on at a bar one of the nights I can't even get in.

so assuming ur 20 years old as well? eheh i was up in montreal a few months back, and its funny as anything that i walk in a super market and buy alcohol at 10am !!!! then i can order anything i want. altho i look way older then 21 years old anyways. i think they dont' care, its all about the money.

your seats are pretty far (from the looks of the map...) from the actual track. the only reason i'm debating on ticket seats.. H stands is RIGHT at the FIRST turn.. so you know.. start off is gonna have a great one, b/c renaults launch system, brake zones, and its a chicane. HmmmMm still wondering which is better buy...

anyone have any suggestions?? i think i'm gonna order tickets tonight. its between H stand J stand corner 6 terrrace corner 10 terrace.

nevermind.. i just tried to order H stand.. they sold out. so i'm going to order Corner 6.

I used to sit there, but bought tickets last year in Stand C because I wanted to be under cover. I burn pretty easy and didn't feel like messing around with block. Good thing because it rained last year. I like to find some shade. I usually sit in H during the qualifying. If you want we can hook up at the track and have a beer. I can forget that I put down a new beer and get another. Give me a call if you want to 443-271-8595

Ya, my seats aren't that close to the track, but I'm told I get a good overview of the race from there.
I thought about the terraces too, but I had no idea what they'd be like so I decided to go with the ones I have.

I'm so pissed about the pit walk on thursday. I don't get into town till saturday morning.
Lousy 20 hour drive.

oh, i'm asian, so i don't really burn. i just get dark fast. which is bad thing in my case.

well, i'm going solo this race weekend cause i told my friends last minute, and i got a great deal on a plane ticket, so i couldn't pass that up... also pit walk...:D if you wanna meet up for pit walk, i have a really high quality camera we can share some photos :) if you like of course.

856-571-2780 my name is bryan btw.

HootyMcBoob are you heading solo? if so, we can get together after qualifying on saturday and go to the city events.

FYI, me and my friends would've drove but i'm not putting that much mileage on my car. roughly 15-20 hours too.

also, does anyone know if i can bring a pole for a flag on the plane???? or do i have to go through bagage claim. i have my BAR Flag... and i would love to bring the pole to wave.... i f i can't,.. i'll still bring the BAR flag itself.

I'm heading down with two other people.

Leaving thursday evening, and getting into indy, bright and early saturday morning for the qualifying.

I will be heading downtown after qualifying, but I'll be checking into the hotel first. Also I have to check out the parking corrals at the track too. There should be some crazy cars parked there, and I'll be going to check out the museum at the track too.

Damn I have alot to do.

I was wondering about a flag pole too, but for me its getting it across the border. I think I'll just go to Wal mart or something after I get across the border and find something for cheap.

on another note, is anyone doing the 'drive the track' on monday?

sounds pretty cool, even though it's a slow controlled lap. just to be on the track will be a blast!

we should hook up on saturday night. for a cruise or something.

Ferrari show

For any of you who will be in town on Friday there is a 'Ferraris on the Circle' show from 3:30 to 8:30pm which might be of interest. The circle is on Meridian street in the center of downtown

There is also a Concours D'Elegence, and a Jaguar car show in the same spot but on saturday afternoon.

I wish I was there for the Ferrari show, but don't get into town till saturday morning.
