From what i can make out open induction kits do very little performance wise.

The best way to go is a enclosed setup. Like the Mugen, Downforce and Gruppe M.

It's shame we can't use open as i believe the Apexi is the best cone filter on the market in terms of flow.

What are your thoughts on using a Blitz Sonic?

Also considered using a BMC Carbon Dynamic Airbox: http://www.bmcairfilters.com/infoCDA.asp

Also pipecross do a couple of options.

You might not of heard of couple listed above and that will be because they are uk based companies i believe. The Venom looks a bit cheap and tacky i know. But it is meant to be a quality product.

Basically what i want to do is where the side intake pipe enters the engine bay i want to take a pipe from that to one of the filters listed above but making it sealed which goes straight onto the filter.

I then obviously straight from the filter to the Throttle Body.

I may also get the parts heat coated.

what do you think? Suggestions on the filters?

OEM box & OEM/Uni/K&N filter. You're pissing away money for bling. Even if it gave 3 hp, that is completely negligible and you won't notice it AT ALL. Return for $$$ is off the scale.

BTW: Even the Mugen, Downforce and Groupe M give little to no performance gains.

Face it, if you want more power you have to add headers if you are 3.0 or start looking at displacement or FI. Almost 100hp/liter is still top of the heap even today.

Exactly right.

In fact, Peter Cunningham uses the NSX OEM airbox in his Realtime Racing TSXes.

yeah i realise it is expensive for the amount of bhp gain if any.

It is also for bling as you say and the sound.

Putting bhp aside a induction kit will make it sound great. will be running water/meth as i already had it for a previous car, so need to have some custom piping and might as well replace the stock filter box at same time.

I will be pairing it with a bigger bore Throttle Body so the filter will be a little more beneficial again but still very marginal.

I see what your saying, already knew it wouldnt be whip lash performance ;).

I will be fitting Headers and cat back around the same sort of time.
