Illegal to buy in the US from CANADA??

i heard about that case in niagra falls where canadians who wanted to buy a vehicle from the states were rejected from the dealership, my question is that since our canadian dollar is strong now and the government or car manufacturers are doing what they can do stop us canadians from buying over there. Im looking to buy private is there anything at the border they can do to not allow me to bring it back to canada? like i dont wanna buy private then im stuck in the US with my new car =(

I think it's only for new cars.I called the canadian border crossing service about importing a 95 they said it was fine.You can find a lot of info a www.cbsa.gc.ca

Also check www.riv.ca for all you need to know about importing a car into Canada. You shouldn't be stopped at the U.S. border for anything as you've bought the car for personal use. Maybe the people who tried before you didn't follow the guidelines set out by U.S. customs first such as having the paperwork sent 48 hours prior.

My dad's mate just brought in a 2004 911 and he had NO issues at all.
