If I want to Change my inteior to black/red what do I do ?? I currently have a black nsx with Ivory interior. Do I have to get the interior pieces painted somehow or what ? Sorry I have no clue how to go about this. Any ideas on cost ?? I want to add racing seats and have everything Ivory to black or red.

So where everything is ivory-you want red? You can dye everything or buy red panels from people on NSXPRIME and sell your ivory rear panels, door panels, seats and carpet. (I guess a red interior would have red carpet--yuck) I had a black interior which has gray headliner and pillars but you likely have black like a tan interior would have for those particular panels.

You can swap out the seats and carpeting and then redye the rest. Leatherique is great stuff for theis kind of work. You can spray the new dye onto the panels after the appropriate prep work. The folks at Leatherique can inform you of the entire process. Although redying seats would be very difficult and likely not turn out too well, all of the trim pieces and headliner would be simple to do.

The Ivory (and Tan) interior have the bottom part of the dash "color coordinated" . Which means that you would have to deal with that...removal of the entire dash and deal with it too.

The colored spray looks good until you actually use the car in real life: it will scratch (and peel) and look very badly very quickly.

A better question: has anybody recovered their dash economically?

Unless you don't value your time and money all that much: forget about it.

Me? I'm holding out for a salvaged newer model NSX with a nice colored interior. Sometime when my evap gives out too.

I was going to perform this operation "Move to Black" and I have a lot of trim parts in black. PM me and We can work out a price.

If you got some money to toss around & about... contact your Acura dealer and get them to order you the red carpet pieces (check RyanITV's NSX-R thread). Many Acura dealers extend a 25-30% discount to members of the NSX community. Worthwhile to become a NSXCA member, as well for savings.

For red or black molded plastic pieces: door-sill, cowl trim, lower door panel speaker cover, fuel-door/trunk switches, firewall, and transmission/gear tunnel pieces (?) try to get them from a totalled/salvaged NSX. You can try ERZ (NY) / Alltypeauto (FL) wreckers (http://www.alltypeauto.com/) as they have of NSX parts from totalled/salvaged NSX's. Or contact Peter at www.Downforce.biz for custom carbon-glass or carbon-fiber pieces!

Ex. '05 Honda NSX: Platinum Pearl White / Red... (London, U.K.)

For non-carpet/nappy pieces, an alternative might be heavy-duty, non-glossy vinyl/pvc/etc. overlay that is properly installed using a heat-gun and then application of protectant spray/sealant (clear-coat?).

wow! that white on red NSX is a hot color combo! I always wondered why Acura never produced that combo from the factory like the 00-02 S2000's Any more pics of the 10 special nsx's from the UK? :biggrin:
