HELP! I have a 1998 nsx-t and have been told that i need a idle air control valve because my car is not idling properly and that the sensor is sending this code to the computer. I checked the price at the dealer and they want $1600. Ouch! Any suggestions?

Maybe see if the throttle body is dirty (throat) and try cleaning it first. I'm not real sure on the NA2 cars, but it helps on a NA1. You may have to remove the throttle body to get all of the passages clean. Sometimes when people service a K&N or similar filter they over oil the filter which gets sucked into the intake and collects dirt in the throttle body and associated air passage ways.

Brad, you remembered Larry's lecture at Nsxpo.
Yes, try cleaning that baby, was it the newer ones that you need to get a tube up into the top there or was it the old ones. I wasn't paying attention.

I think Brian was paying attention.
Your right.

Sounds like the dealer was trying to take your money...also suggest you clean your throttle body.
