#8 is the EGR ports back into the intake.It definitely has an effect on emissions. It only works at part throttle, and has no affect on full throttle though so it is not a real performance hinderer. Some people block off the EGR valve and weld in the IM ports, but only if you have a standalone EMS.There has been quite a bit of (technical) discussion here about the EGR in the past. Personally, I would leave it intact.Dave
