California Speedway
Buttonwillow
Willow Springs/Streets of Willow
Spring Mountain

Checkout Speedventures, they run quite a bit of events in SoCal and are reasonably priced too:
www.speedventures.net

Streets or Buttonwillow are good tracks to learn the basics

For other event organizers checkout:

Each organizer has a FAQ for newbies.

Good luck!

Since this is apparently your first time at the track, I strongly recommend that you sign up for a drivers school, rather than just expecting to drive on the track. Any good drivers school (also known as an HPDE, or high-performance driver education, event) puts an instructor in your passenger seat to ride with you, and gives classroom instruction when you're not driving on the track. This will help you by pointing out what to do and how you can improve; without such instruction, you will only learn bad habits that will be difficult to break in the future.

HPDE events are conducted by many groups. Groups that conduct such events all over the country include non-profit clubs such as NASA and BMW CCA (which does not require ownership of a BMW to join or participate). You can get recommendations for local groups holding events in the Southland from others on this forum, such as in the above posts. And maybe there's still time to sign up for the upcoming Track Masters Racing event in Norcal on July 21, jointly held by the NSX Club of America, which will have lots of NSXs participating; send a PM to NSXprime username Hrant for details.

I would suggest running with one of the better organized clubs for your first event, one that will be sure to provide an instructor and safe environment. I think the BMW club would top the list, NASA also has a well organized HPDE program, the PCA can be good as well.

I would wait before doing something like Speed Ventures or the like. These clubs are usually very good about getting you LOTS of track time for your money, but they are not as beginner friendly.

yes, DEFINITELY go with an instructor. You'll be surprised how much you'll learn. ...and what a great car the NSX is.

Let us know how it goes.
