Hey, I'm looking for advice!

We just bought a full size (18 Wheeler) low trailer and we're building it into a race trailer, as part of the project we need to put a lift in it. I'm so not worried about weight (there are lightweight aluminum ones) because we'll be around 14,000 lbs fully built and a reefer can take 80,000 - so I'm looking for cheap and good (I said good so Dave wouldn't have an excuse to PM me with a "hi Sailor" again)

Any thoughts guys?

BAAAHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA

You bought an 18 wheeler? Why? So you can repo 50 cars at once? Race trailer, for WHAT?

It all started 'cuz I wanted to have a fridge at the track 'cuz I was tired of spending all that money on poweraid - seriously, $2.50 for a poweraid? Thats highway robbery!!!

Ray got his Class A License and Gleb was looking to buy a trailer too, next thing I know I'm looking at stackers!

LOL!!! I cannot wait to watch you wait for them to open the gates for the first time!

I will come and go as I please but you will be bringing your big rig to HPDE and you will be unable to use the tunnel! Lets take the rig to XPO! We can stuff all our cars in there are frequent truck stops along the way!

Please put a full kitchen and big plasma in it. You need a big generator, too. And I thought that club Ghabor was good, Club Stu is going to be awesome!

Ray and Gleb LIVE for track days - they'll sleep over the night before!!!

Of course we're gonna have a TV, PLUS Fridge, and a generator!

The only real question is can everything get done in time? (The trailer is an empty shell right now)

I can't really give any advice on lifts, I just bought the one they recommended, but just make sure when you bolt the lift down to the trailer deck that you have the legs at the right angle, I've heard about people bolting them down then having trouble lifting and lowering the lift because the bases of the legs weren't properly aligned. I wonder if you'd have to use shims.

Stu you should look at Kentucky vans / race trailers / stackers as you mentioned. Price tag north (like YOU!) of 100K $. But, upon conversion of your purchased trailer, I have an Imola THAT WOULD LIKE TO BE TRANSPORTED TO NSXPO 2008 AT PORTLAND and run some mountain roads and TRANSPORTED back...

Dood - That is just crazy!!! but I love it! I have a single car trailer, a 2 car hauler and a Denali(that comes in this week) but I can't compte with you. You still win for sucking hard on the Go Fast Crack Pipe.

Stu sucks on and at a few things, but the go fast crack pipe is not one of them.

The guy drives an essentially stock NSX!!!!

Slowly, too!

My NSX goes the speed limit plus a little:wink: Its my race car that passes Dave on the track: WHen he's not running fresh RA1s, medium aged RA1s, Old RA1s, it isn't a weekend 'cuz he can't run, it isn't a day ending in "Y" since his SC doesn't make good boost on those days - other than that - Dave is WAY faster:rolleyes:

Neil- i didnt get your est fest reservation!!

What gives?

Hi Dave and hello to all I met at NSXPO 07 Cols, OH! Glad you asked, because I examined EST FEST seriously.... Victoria Day Holiday, huh?
Basically, no excuses. But, I've driven from GAN, ON, to Detroit and it is one h-l- of a long pull. Plus whatever misery our border brings. Add in that savage bad boy - 401 - especially thru T.O. No float on Uncle Sam's greenback any more, and no holiday weekend to expend. I know. Whining.
Anyway, it sure sounds like you all will have a fine weekend there. Know you will post some super photos. Too bad about the Leafs. Red Wings rule!

Oh c'mon! Don't be a baby! The X was made to drive - come up Thursday night, stay over in TO and head out with us on Friday AM - how bad can it be?

Should have called me.........Factory race teams are always selling their trailers with the lifts, storage and benches already in them. Could have just hooked up and driven away.....Now you can buy my RV so you have a nice place to sleep

We looked at some Rigs that were built - the problem is that the premium for a built rig is crazy - cheaper to build your own. If you know of an AMAZING deal I'd have a look, but it seems that even used the trailer alone is $100k plus, I can build my own for a fraction of that.
