I miss my NSX

Just thought I'd whine a little bit to some hopefully sympathetic ears.

I got laid off in June. My mom has been fighting bone cancer for more than 2.5 years now. I lived/worked in Seattle, my parents live in Connecticut. So after much debating, I decided to break lease on my apt, move all my stuff into storage, and drive back to stay with my parents in Connecticut, to give my mom some good quality time. The only problem is, the NSX couldn't possibly carry enough stuff for the trip, along with a passenger, so I had to turn over the keys to a friend with a garage, and head out with my civic. That was at the end of July.

I miss my baby. Unfortunately, I just can't figure out a way that makes financial sense to go see it (and my friends from that area) or bring it to CT. I also haven't gotten any good leads on a job (software engineering), and I don't know where I'll end up.

I am sorry about your mom, hope she's doing better. You will see your NSX soon enough, but family is WAY more important.

Maybe two of your friends could drive it down to CT and visit you that way

Of course, you have to figure out how they are gonna get back to WA.

I've been lucky enough to survive the first two rounds of layoffs where I work. The job market for software engineering is horrible in CT right now. I've been trying to look for something just in case, and have no leads either.

Like the other said, it's just a car. But then again I don't have an NSX to miss in the first place

But, of course you made the right choice to leave it behind.

By the way, where in CT are you?

Here's a suggestion: Attend the NSX Club event in New Hampshire September 21. (Details here.) It's lots cheaper than going back to WA, and you'll get to ride in someone's NSX - maybe even drive one. As well as enjoying the camaraderie of the club events. And, while spending time with your family is (obviously) most important, getting away for a day might be a good idea too.

As far as unemployment goes, there are quite a few of us in that same boat.
