It has been a full two weeks now since I dropped her off at the shop to replace the hood and fenders. The car is STILL not ready. I guess they are taking their sweet time to make sure it gets done right, and while I appreciate that... I MISS MY NSX!!

I don't know how you guys that can't drive it in the winter survive!!

OK.. end rant

Well, they can always resort to Gran Turismo 3 if the weather goes foul......

Everything will be allright NETVIPER, good things come to those who wait. Not too long though

I actually bought a "KING CANOPY" to put the car under. I think that will be much better for it all the way around. It is anchored into the ground with concrete, so it should be fine. The next place I move, I want a garage!

They have been redoing the outside of my building, and for two weeks my car was locked in my garage with a sheet of plastic covering the doorway along with steel scaffolding. Then the guter guy came, two days after they finished and set up a cherry picker to do the windows and guters. Tow days after he was done, I took my car in for inspection, oil change, scheduled service, strut bar install (30 minutes), aux cooling fan install (30-90 minutes?), and fog light install (90 minutes?). Two days later, the service guy calls and says he needs the car for another three days, I can pick it up in the afternoon. I arrive on the fifth day to find fog lights bolted in but not installed (dealer can't figure out how and now I have fog light parts missing), strut bar in/engine cover off, fan still in sealed boxes, old inspection sticker still in window (not done), oil change not done. In other words, the car wasn't touched after I spoke with hime friday. I have no faith that my car will be done today, iffy on wednesday. Seven days.

Acura service has been overhauled to look like a bank, and they treat me the same way. They can't seem to keep up the service standards with the sales figures that they are doing.

Meanwhile, I have a ton of mods to do and I need to do some projects in the bodyshop.

Life's tough;-)

End rant.

Ain't nuttin'...by the time I get mine back it will be almost five months, and my NSX is my daily driver for the past four years.

Two weeks - child's play.

Do yourself, and your car a huge favor, and don't rush the guys. mechanical work is one thing, it is far more predictable in the time thing, but bodywork is much more difficult to stay on schedule. Most common problem- painter shoots car- painter doesn't like outcome- painter tells manager he wants to reshoot- manager says, 'what are you nuts? this guy calls everyday. Ship it the way it is and we'll deliver it to him in the sun'. I'm not taking any more heat.

(ALWAYS demand to inspect the paint job in th shop, under the same flourescent lights the painter inspects under. Delivering you your car in the sun is the oldest trick in the body repair bussiness. The sun obliterates most paint defects while flouro shows ALL defects. Check closest around the edges; most shops use liquid masking these days and if not done properly it leaves a thin orange peel like edge)

Painter- but I'll just have to redo it!- manager, probabally not- the guy is so tired of waiting, he'll accept mediocrity.

The above is a dirt common exchange that years at new car dealers I have heard / seen a hundred times. Be sure they are not wasting time, maybe pay an occasional UNANNOUNCED visit so they know they better be working on it if they say they are, but don't be the sqeauky wheel to a body shop. You will certainly get the grease, and you won't like it.

Just one man's opinion- what do I know about the auto repair bussiness??

Good luck,
Mark

Monday...dealer installed cooling fan

Tuesday...dealer changes oil and does inspection

Wednesday...wire cooling fan

Thursday=Day 9

I am thus far very happy with it. I am going to drill some holes in the legs to anchor it to the top. ( they have an anchor kit - but this will be better IMO).

I got it for 143.00 from Lowes after beating the Kmart price.. however, I see Kmart has it onsale this week for 139.

I put it in the ground 8 inches and cemented it, so it is not as tall as it looks on the box, but I wanted to keep it in the ground.

I'm missing my NSX too... I'm currently out of the country.... only 12 hrs has passed... I'm been missing her already..
