After searching used tuner rims for nsx for the last 2 months, i have finally gave up. I have just ordered a new set of 17/18 SSR type-C (Competition is the name in america). I also ordered P7000SC, koni adj shocks and injet intake. The shop total the sum to $3200 everything installed. I think i got a good deal, because i heard if i order some other good japanese rims (volks te37, advans, racing hart...) i might have to wait for 3-6 months and $4000+ w/tires.

I will have all of my stuff on Friday next week. He told me his shop ordered from Tirerack but he knocked off the price for some discount cos i bought everythings and installation from him. I am very pleased with this deal.

$3200.00 Wow, that's a pretty good deal
considering what you got. (Wheels + Tires
+ Suspension + Intake)

The SSR-C are the lightest wheels that
SSR carries in the US, I've got some SSR
Integrals and from what I heard the C's
are lighter..

Any particular reason why you chose to go
with the Pirelli P7000SC? Have not heard
too much about them when used on the NSX's.

Post some pic's of your ride once you get
everything installed...

BTW: Are you showing up at Hilltop in
February to check out Chris's ride
with the BBSC?

PS I thought that Mark at Dali could get
TE37's fairly quickly these days..

I haven't seen that setup on an NSX, but it oughta look real cool. Can't wait for you to post some pics.

I really love the TE37, Advan 5, and the Technomagnesio but I think the SSR T-C is a better buy in terms of lighter weight and pricing. I don't know too much about P7000supersport, but I guess they will be ok for that price. I will keep you guys updates on these tires

Yes, you bet I'll take and post pictures once I got them. After owning the nsx for over 2 years, i have never taken any pictures of it because it has those nasty stock chrome rims, which I feel I am not really proud of.

I am thinking to go see the supercharged nsx on the meeting day. Are you also a client of Don's Hilltop too? I been to Don's for service. Don is a great guy.

I think you made a good choice on wheels. But the TE37s don't cost $4000+ with tires. the rims are about $1600 plus around $800 for tires, that's a total of around $2400. The Advans SHOULD be cheaper.

While I haven't formerly introduced myself yet (I am still waiting for my cc machine to open), I will be coming online as an NSX Prime vendor in the coming weeks. The deal you received sounds like a very good one.

Volk/Blitz/etc would not cost nearly that much however. The three to six month part can sometimes be true, but most of the times the rims are available. (like now)

Maybe i just didn't find the right people for TE37s. I got the feeling of rim shops wanted to scare me off by charging high price for their trouble. I was told he will have to order from Japan and I will have to pay deposit first, wait 2-6 weeks (or maybe more),...

Another shop told me he can get me the Blitz from DAZZ but I read another article in this site said the owner waited 6 months for a replacement wheel.

But the most common answer I got from rims shop is "Oh, we don't carry any rims for your nsx that will fit correctly".

I would have order the TE37 from you if I learned about the your price and availablity. I am sure there is a niche market for NSX parts (at least not crowded as the Civic, accords, eclipse).

I wish you the best luck for your new business and hopfully all of the NSXers will enjoy your offer of a new channel for NSX parts source.

Dali Racing, which specializes in aftermarket stuff for the NSX, carries the TE37 in various sizes and finishes.

Thank you for the well wishes. The focus of my wheel store is the high end market-- not Hondas. (with the NSX big exception

I have never heard of anyone getting Blitz rims from Dazz. Dazz is an importer of Racing Hart, Lowinhart, etc, but Blitz North America deals with their own products. I think the dealer attitude you were seeing towards Volk is becoming more the norm. I have personally seen Volk (well, technically Mackin Industries-- Volk's importer) take over a year for some rims! Absurd. So, the retailer looks like an idiot because the of Volk's incompetence, and it appears as though some are tired of it. For your future reference, M.S.R.P. on a TE37 17x9 is $600.

As I said before though, the deal you received is great, so I would be content with it.

I like the TE37 because they are very "HOT" items in Japan. Also they are the top choice for modded R-34, EVO, STi, and supra. I am sure they will be popular in the America market very soon.

I just ordeer the volk racing GTP for my 93 NSX. (17X8 & 18X10) Do you know the offset of the SSR? I don't know the perfect offset for this setting. I don't want the rear tires hit the quarter panel when hard cornering, and also is it too wide for rear wheel (18 X 10)?
Is anyone try the Bridgestone S-03 Pole Position?
My planning is 215/40/17 at front for sure.
But 265/35/18, 275/35/18 or 285/30/18 at rear. whick is better?

I don't know the offsets for my SSR. But the shop or tirerack will guarantee the fitment without any problems.

my SSR are 17x7.5 215/40/17
18x9.5 255/35/18
This is the largest set of 17/18 wheels tirerack recommended for the NSX. I can also order bigger size from them but tirerack would not guarantee they will fit correctly on the NSX.

I,m glad to see someone else with the ssr-c.I got mine in time for nsxpo at road america.I use mine as a track set up.Tire rack only had 17 inch at the time.My fronts are also 17/7.5 with 235/40/17 advans, rear is 275/40/17 on a 9.5inch rim. However be warned the offset is not as high as stock and with the brembo brakes the front tires did not clear the fender with HR springs.I had to use zanardi springs to solve the rubbing on compression.

I've heard great things about Don as well, for now I am getting my car serviced at Foreign Affair in Santa Clara (its closer
for me). They are pretty knoweldgeable on the NSXs as well, Steve at FA has a red 92 or 93 CT that is supercharged... Sadly they are not open minded about the BBSC

.
If I decide to go the BBSC way, I 'll probably start getting my car serviced at Don's, since from what I heard he will be trained by Mark in regards to the BBSC

Keep us posted on your NSX..

NSX2000,

Just wondering what year/color, etc you have. I am in the Oakland area as well.
and VincentVtec,

I just got a set of Volk GT-P as well. I already got the fronts on 17x8 with 215/40/17 Bridgestone Potenza S02 Pole Positions and it looks great. I am waiting on the 18x10 with 275/35/18 S02 Pole Position to be installed this week. Damn, I thought I was the only one with those wheels for NSX! Oh well, I guess its ok since you are in another country! Did you get the Diamond cut? I will post the pics as soon as I get the rears on. From my research before buying the wheels/tires, those sizes will fit fine without rubbing.

I got a 91' Black/Ivory NSX. I am in Oakland area also. My NSX is off the road most of the time because I work in Hong Kong 11 months out of a whole year. I think there are not many NSX in Oakland. I can recall 4 NSX in Oakland.

Maybe 1 other black one also w/chrome rims and red clippers,
1 black one belongs to my high school (Skyline)school mate
1 stock red one sometimes parked in Chinatown,
1 other red one w/chrome OEM 7 spokes rims in Alameda.

Hey, I will be in town this Wednesday. You want to meet and talk some more about the NSX?

I got bad news today. The rim shop told me tirerack is low on the ssr type-c. They have the 18" but the 17" are out. I will have to wait for 2-3 weeks. But the bad part is I only stay home for 2 weeks. So, I have told him to hold off for the wheel deal. I will have to look for other wheels now quick. I welcome if anyone have any recommendations for wheels "in stock".

Hi nsx2000, I think I may be able to get the same set of wheels for you before you have to leave. Please e-mail me at [email protected]

I have finally got new rims for my NSX. Pictures are postedhere

These are not exactly the rims I had in mind. But I got them installed onto my car within 2 days after I placed the order. Also, they cost me only half of the price of the SSR-C.

Congrats, the wheels definetely look very nice.

Are the wheels Gunmetal Black or Anthracite
Black? Or perhaps it is just the lighting? From some angles they looked to be Bronze, just like the TE37s, or SE37Ks
smile.gif

Will look out for your car next weekend at Hilltop for the BBSC demo!

BTW: Let us know how those P7000 work out..

I can't tell if you got the Koni's installed,
since the car does not seem to have been lowered, then again I could be wrong..

They are Anthracite (black over polish). I really love the color on the black nsx. The Koni's are on the car and they also improved the ride in high speed a bit. I will be showing up at Hilltop auto on BBSC demo day.
