There are some EXTREMELY WEIRD laws in this world: some funny, some strange. Here are some i was sent:

-----------------------------
Switzerland
It is required that every car with snow tires has to have a sticker on its dashboard which tells that the driver should not drive faster than 160 km/h with these tires. (Repealed 1999)

Australia: If someone breaks into your house and you're not home and injurs themselves, they can press charges against the homeowner. If they break in when you are home and you try to "remove" them, they will press charges against you for trying to cause grievous bodily harm.

Helena, Montana: Law states that a woman cannot dance on a saloon table unless her clothing weighs more than three pounds, two ounces.

South Korea: Traffic police are required to report all bribes that they receive from motorists.

Australia, Victoria:
The legal age for straight sex is 16, unless the person is in the care/custody of the older person, in which case it is 18.

Australia:
Under Australian Communications Authority (ACA) regulations, a modem can't pick up on the first ring. If it does the, ACA permit for your modem is invalid and there's a $12,000 fine. -Telecommunications Act 1991.

USA
Persons may be placed in jail for up to five years for shooting a hole in a penny.

USA, AZ
It is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water.

USA, AZ
It is illegal to manufacture imitation cocaine.

England:
The legal age for consentual sex is 16, but it is illegal for them to watch pornography until the age of 18.

In my town of Chico, CA, detonating a nuclear weapon within city limits carries a $500 fine.
Thats a city fine, not county, btw

It's against the law to catch wales in Oklahoma. A landlocked state!

...
Is that really true?

Hey that's great Neo!

NSXmas... yes it is unfortunately... That is one of the problems with the British Westminster System. However, there are many more examples of how the system is evolving for the better!

But I like this one:

USA, AZ
It is illegal to manufacture imitation cocaine.

Q. Does that mean that it is okay to manufacture REAL cocaine there? Sort of like a protected industry????

We'll have to wait for PHOEN$X re/ that cocaine law... although he may not be able to comment in case he incriminates himself. :D

Here's some more stupid laws; i don't know how true these are:

-----------------------------
Norway: Licenses must be bought in order to own television sets, and even VCRs.

Italy: Striking someone with a fist is considered a felony.

Turkey: All married women must get their husband's permission if they wish to have a job, they must live wherever the husband wishes to reside, and they must forfeit all jointly held assets upon divorce from her husband. (Repealed January 1, 2002)

And here's yet more stupid laws. i dont think i'll post any more after this; People aren't as interested when there's a race girl thread in the OffTopic forum at the same time. :D

------------------------

Philippines: Cars whose license plates end with a 1 or 2 are not allowed on the roads on Monday, 3 or 4 on Tuesday, 5 or 6 on Wednesday, 7 or 8 on Thursday, and 9 or 0 on Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Mexico: Bicycle riders may not lift either foot from the peddles, as it might result in a loss of control. Also, anyone who whistled at or annoyed a bicycle rider could be arrested.

Canada: It is illegal to kill a sick person by frightening them.

Nothing dumb about trying to regulate traffic in over populated areas or trying to save the gas....
