Before today I had neither ridden in nor driven an NSX, but now I've done both.

Thanks Yawwn for giving me my first taste of the good stuff. We took his awesome yellow widebody NA1 up Alum Rock and back down 680. I burned a little bit of clutch starting out on the steeper bits (sorry!!!) but had a great time hanging out - he's a really cool dude.

And what a car!

Best Saturday in a long time. Cheers all

He is definitely a great guy. I met him when he approached my in a parking lot and unknowing he drove his R8 that day. I was gifted the opportunity to drive it later on. Thanks again for a great experience!

Looks like you guys are both of the yellow NSX persuasion! He sold the R8 and got a Gemballa 911 to cart his kids around. Lucky kids...

Hi bengl3rt,
Great meeting you! I'm glad to have met you, and for you to drive my car.
No problem about the clutch, as you didn't do anything serious to it.
I hope you really enjoyed the way the car drove, and that you will be an owner in the near future. I know you're not into modified cars, but if you may be in the market for a widebody, I'm probably going to put it on the market relatively soon.

Hi Xetronic,
Good memory! I'm sorry that the drive in the R8 was not at high speeds, but I'm glad you were at least able to take it for a spin.
I hope to see you again at a meet sometime.

I did! Can't argue with the ride on those enormous wheels.

Is the silver car your keep-it-forever NSX, then?

Hi Ben,
Yes, I think the silver will be kept forever.
I've bought the ESM 18" and 19" wheels for it.
A few weeks ago, a few friends helped me to install the Tein S-Tech springs I purchased from John at Microsoft years ago to lower the car about 1" (However, the front still looks like it has too much of a wheel gap).
In addiiton, I put in the TiDave short shifter kit that I got from NSX GT. I also added the Type R billet aluminum ball shift knob.
I plan to take off the Comptech exhaust from my yellow NSX, and install it on the silver one prior to putting the widebody on the market in a few weeks.
I'm going to hold off on other mods for now, and just try to enjoy it.
I do have a CEL on the silver NSX which indicates the O2 sensor (thanks Prime brothers for helping me diagnose it), so I plan to replace that this weekend.

You bought another NSX!!!??

I've been dabbling with the idea of another sports car later this year and now seriously thinking R8 v10 spyder :) Can't find the heart to sell my NSX so planning to share garage space....

Yawn is pretty generous with his cars. I drove the Porsche for a good bit too. He didn't even seem to mind the donuts I did on his street when he went inside to grab his wallet.

It was more than I would have ever expected. The experience was most excellent and whether it be fast or slow, the engine sounds awesome none the less.

Thanks Again!

Is that all? I visited him once...while he went into the bathroom, I took his widebody and went off roading into the vineyard and hit a few deer. lolz

Whoa, your on here too s4play??? I seen you on clublexus and S2000. Your everywhere!!!

I am late to the game here, so sorry to bump this old thread, but I also wanted to thank Yaawn for being an awesome car guy.

When I was a C5Z06 owner back in 2008, he offered to let me drive both his silver and yellow NSX. I had a blast, and it was pretty much a religious experience - getting back in my C5Z after the spirited NSX driving, I instantly knew the car was ruined for me. Yeah, my wallet thanks you Yaawn! ;)

I now have a '91 NSX. :). The blame rests solely on Yaawn - I guess the first hit was free.
