Ok, I 1st of all would like to apoligize for venting here on prime but I need to vent and also need assistance.

Last Thursday night, I was driving in Hollywood on the way to SkyBar to get some drinks with friends. I was pulled over by LAPD, to where they tell me that I'm on a restricted license. (Hense the reasoning for them pulling me over is due to my extremely loud exhaust.) I need to know, they impounded my vehicle saying it's going to be a 30 day impound. Both, myself & my father are on the vehicle sales contract. Is there any possible way of being about to get my vehicle out of the impound early???? Please let me know I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't stand to feel this way of knowing my vehicle is in a impound yard. Thanks................

I don't think you can get it out.....why do you have a restricted license?

Is that mistake or is that something you knew about already?

Also driving to Hollywood is just asking for trouble especially if you have a loud exhaust. They are actually cracking down on cruising and loud vehicles due to the residents complaining about the noise.

Only thing you can do is seek legal advice or go directly to the impound and see if there is some kind of fee you can pay to get it out. Other than that you are S.O.L. if it means what it means.

I would get that restricted license issue taken care of asap also.

My license is actually under a Restricted title. "To and from work" is what I can legally drive. I understand that due to my stubborness driving my vehicle is what got me into this problem but I'm trying to find some solution to where I don't have to let my vehicle sit in the impound that long.

Not to get too preachy on you but you have a Restricted license which means your regular license has been suspended. Generally in California, that would occur with a DWI/DUI situation where you can apply for a Restricted license to get back and forth to work. Knowing that, you chose to drive to get drinks with friends at night and now you complain about your car being impounded?

Chalk it up as a lesson learned and, if your license was suspended for a DUI, a wake up call to get your act together.

I'll second that.

I also agree. If the suspension/restriction was due to a DUI, please change. The streets are already dangerous enough without drunk drivers.

My license was not suspended due to a DUI. It was actually taken away due to a medical issue (being epileptic) which I'm supposed to have my license revoked but as good faith they suspended it for 6 months or until I can get proof that the epilepsy is not severe enough to pull my license. I understand it is still my fault, I do understand that. I'm just trying to pull through so I can avoid paying $1600 after 30 days to get my vehicle out of the impound. Thanks for making that point clear about the DUI though.. haha I do totally agree with you on that part. But no, that's not my situation.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Sorry to hear about the epilepsy but glad to hear it was not a DUI (although I am sure you are aware of the dangers of driving with a seizure disorder so I won't get preachy about that).

California is tough with the impound requirements resulting from a Restricted license driving infraction so I don't have any pearls of wisdom to offer you about getting it out early.

Good luck with everything.
