Hi,

Can someone help me and tell me how do I take this piece off? I don't know what's behind it as i'm trying to replace the cowl with a new one.

I'm just puzzle in how it's attached to the carpet and the cowl. Please help.

Thanks in advance,

There are those metal push tab things behind the carpeted area. Be careful when you pull it out. It is def. a PITA to get out

Are you suggesting that I should pull the carpet piece out as shown in yellow (see picture)?

The parts diagram provided by Drew is very helpful. I wish I'd looked at it when I removed mine(I broke it).

You want to pull the clip (#25) away from the side of the car. Once that's done, you can remove the whole piece.

Thanks guys!

NSXROC, is #25 the only one that I need to remove? Do I reach in and use my bear hand or do I need a plier, etc to pull it out?

Be very careful and methodical when unattaching the front clips because I broke mine using a little too much force.

Sorry didn't see the post till now. Looks like you got it. It is a pain getting it out. I didn't break mine but I thought I did when it came out.

Guys,

I'm stuck. See picture:

Is #1 the screw that you guys are talking about that I need to take out first? I just don't see it attaching to the cowl though.

As my finger reached behind the carpet in #2, I do feel some plastic is behind it.

Thanks,

Thanks,

The # 1 screw/bolt you have mentioned does not need to be removed. You only need to detach the plastic clip behind the #2 area so you can take the cowl out. Make sure there's nothing blocking #2 area when you pull the cowl away from the car.

Do you grab the carpet and pull it out with some force? It feels like some type of round plastic at the #2 spot. This is so difficult.

Thanks in advance,

Yeah, it takes a little force to take it out. You have to make sure when you're pulling it, the cowl is straight so that you won't break the two pieces. I placed two flat screwdrivers behind the #2 area and positioned them to pull the plastic clip out of the hole.

Thanks for everyone's input. Finally, I was able to get it out.

I was about to give up today, but I decided to work on the left side first. Once i was able to see the screw visually, then it gave me an idea of how much force to use on the right side.

Here's a picture of what the screws look like so it will give you a better idea what to expect...

Again, thanks for everyone's input.
