The car was sitting for so long and the battery went dead. After i got it started again, I noticed the remote entry did not respond to lock/unlock and the engine hatch light on all the time. Any idea how to reset it?

Many thanks in advance.

Close the hatch properly, then try the remote again. The keyless will not work unless all doors, hood and hatches are close properly. There is no reset for the keyless.

All doors and hatch are closed properly and still does not work. Should I disconnect the battery terminal and connect it back to reset the computer?

hhm....if the hatch is closed and latched, you should not get an open light on the dash. This is probably thie issue. You could try to reset the computer, but I would take a hard look at that latch.

Does the remote led's flash red when you push the lock/unlock on the remote?

If you can lock all doors with the key, then all the doors are closed properly. There is a fuse that is known for blowing on the keyless remote head unit wiring harness. It is under the passenger side glove box. Check that fuse. You will have to take the bottom cover out from under the glove box to get to it.

Thank you, I will try that to see any blown fuse. Is that fuse also related to the engine hatch light that is on all the time ? It is bright red when it is opened, and dull red when it is totally closed.

If you are referring to the red indicator light on the dash, and it is always on, you have a different issue. ( nothing to do with the wireless remote, but causing the wireless not to work)
The fuse I am referring to is on the wireless harness.

I had the same issue when I first got my car. Messed around with the latch adjustment etc. Nothing worked. The battery in the car had been dead many times. It was at the point of no return. I tried everything to get the hatch light off. When we put a new battery in the car the light was gone. Give that a try.

what year, as targa switch come loose in the back showing the same light.

My car is an 2003. From the time I picked the car up the light for the hatch was on. I couldn't lock the vehicle with the remote as it thought the hatch wasn't latched. After checking out the latch and putting a new battery in the remote, still had the light on. Once I had a new battery installed, the light was gone.

I had the problem and still do. It was a bad contact in the remote control, battery. I have not been able to find a new remote control? I now fix it with a hit. Lance
