This part, depicted in the attached photo, is easily scratched and gouged.

Mine, especially on the driver's side, was pretty scuffed up and had deep gouges in it.

Easily repaired: I removed it (lift up the leather door sill cover toward the rear of the car, remove one screw under the fuel door release, remove the fuse box and remove two screws in near the fuse box - this piece comes out attached via c-clip to the bezel around the front hood release) and worked on it.

I started with 60-grit sandpaper to file away the plastic. That left deep scratches in the plastic. I moved to 100, then 150, then 220, then finished it off with 400-grit paper.

Actually, it was obvious from where I had sanded it that the entire piece had faded over time. So I ended up sanding the top layer off the whole piece, not just where the scratches and gouges were. It ended up like a brand-new piece of plastic.

BTW, that part, along with the aforementioned hood release bezel, is $165 full retail price at Acura.

Hope this helps.

(BTW, be patient with me as this is my first try at uploading pictures. Apologies if it doesn't come out right the first time.)

Excellent. thank you... I just bought a full variety of sanding papers (gradual grits) so this sounds an easy repair... Again, thaNSX* for sharing !
