How to produce sth out of carbon?

It doesn't have to be very stiff and not optically perfect. It only has to be light and cheap enough. What's the best way to go?
 
Depends on the geometry of the part and what you equipment you have available. A wet lay-up with cloth and 2-part epoxy is simple, but really messy and somewhat frustrating. If you can vacuum bag it to a mold or platen you'll see a large improvement in both appearance and strength. Heat-shrink tape can be used if geometry permits. Pre-preg gives the best results for flat or rolled surfaces but requires an autoclave to cure.
