How to get the rusty axle out of the hub

Here is what worked for me.
1 get a cover from the spray can and cut small hole.
2 glue it to the hub with 1 minute epoxy.
3 mix ATF with acetone and pour it in the cup. Thanks Kaz for this idea.
4 leave it overnight
5 loose the nut for about 2 turns
6 put the ball end hammer at the center of the axle and hit it hard with your other favorite hammer. Thanks Larry for this idea.

I removed the entire knuckle and pressed mine out when I had this problem. Didn't try the cup with acetone, but did try heat, and pb blaster for a few days.

Forget hitting with two hammers,I posted years ago this is dangerous. People blogged that myth busters debunked this theory, then myth busters retracted, ask Larry B. Try this ,loosen nut and spray ,take for a ride ,it will break free in splines.May save your eyesight!
