Do any of you NSXers know how to disconnect the left and right speakers without taking the door panels off? My right speaker just blew and I am planning on eventually replacing the whole stock Bose system-- in the interim, however, I am trying to just listen to the left speaker-- even thought the Taitec exhaust is all the music I should need!

I looked through the service manual, but it has been too many years since my college electrical engineering course to decipher the schematics.... and I don't want to snip the wrong wire!

thanks,

Jason

The door panel is real easy to get off. I am a complete novice and I can do it. I would recommend that before cutting any wires. It only takes 10 minutes to get it off.

thanks for the tips, I will try taking off the door. Turning the balance all the way to the left didn't work b/c the right speaker is still powered and is making hideous noises.

got it done, disconnected the speaker after taking off the door panel. Not too rough.

Now comes the hard part-- selecting components for a new stereo setup. Options I've seen so far look pretty pricey. I am checking the boards here for what NSXers have found to be a good fit for the NSX.

You could also get the speaker repaired for 75.00 by Bose plus shipping. I have two sets of speakers. A good set I will be installing and then the bad ones that come out (including sub also). [email protected] I believe is the correct email address..

about 15 min. to take off the door panel, unclip the speaker wiring harness, and put the panel back on.
