How to cut up the rear valence?

I like to cut the middle bar of the rear valence so that the exhaust is exposed more. Someone suggusted using a dremel. Anyone try this? I'm not sure if the plastic can be "polished" with the dremel or sandpaper after cutting it.

The best way I found to cut the valence is using a jigsaw. The Dremel is just too out of control as well as is a saber saw.

Leave that up to the body shop because if you want a nice finish it will have to be cut and sanded then re-primed and re sprayed.

i used a speed saw / rotozip. I sported exposed exhaust for a while. Now Im back to stock 91 valence.

Looks like you cut off the whole thing? I'm just looking to cut the one center bar off.

Any pics? How did you smooth out the edges?

No pix, it is actually pretty easy. You can smooth out the edges with a file. Cuts like butter with the right blade. I have the RotoZip, Dremel, and jigsaw all at my disposal but I would definitely stick with the jigsaw for the control factor. What you are looking to do might be difficult territory for most jigsaws. You don't have to go power tools, you can probably do it with a simple coping saw.
