How much extra do you pay when you order parts from USA?

lately i have been interested in ordering rims from USA, i have been checking the TE-37 16/17 silver, 1654 USD at daliracing
i think its a good price...but the "real" price...the price i pay is gonna be lots more cause i have to pay shipping (its 300 dollar and i can live with that) but i also have to pay lots of taxes since i live in the tax paradise country called sweden

1654 + 300 (shipping) + 4.4% (custom) +25% (swedish tax)

the "real" price i would have to pay would be close to 2600 USD (21000 SEK)

i contacted a swedish new company that order parts from japan
and their price is 3460 USD

Since thats a Japanese product, why not order from Japan?

You will definately get charged for customs duty and also some fee on top other than the % itself.

I get alloy wheels from Japan shipped inside cars that are imported. (Free shipping to the UK)

Run into the same thing a while ago, also with wheels.

I spend some time on the net, and found a little shop in Tokyo, who send me the wheels. Great service, and really, really fast.
It turned out that these guys are shipping all over the globe.

On top of that, the pricing was $1800 for the 4 wheels, including shipping to Holland(ex. taxes and import), while they charged me in the US $2300 for the wheels alone, ex. shipping. (not a NSX vendor)

The shop didn't have any problems with shipping on a lower invoice

Just keep in mind that if you do ship with a lower invoice the insurance is only for that amount as well........

lower invoice...hmm interesting :)

I order a lot of stuff and normally I ask to get "gift" as declared value on the package... that way you do not pay any taxes (in Switzerland it is 15$ + 7% of the valiue).

in Sweden...i have heard that the "gift thing" doesnt work anymore

How can they (Sweden) determine the realvalue then? For example for something very specific like a NSX part?

Same here in Holland.
They won't accept a 'gift' when the part is clearly new.
They know all the tricks, and it is commonly known here that these guys are VERY good at finding the value off something, and if they can't find it, then they make a very 'nice' estimate.
If the 'estimate' is to high, YOU have to prove otherwise..........

Nice huh.
