Man Drives Home with Headless Friend

ATLANTA (Reuters) - A Georgia man who drove home with a friend's headless body after a truck accident then went to bed while the remains dangled out the window faces charges including vehicular homicide and drunk driving, police said on Monday.

John Hutcherson, covered in blood and visibly inebriated, was arrested in bed on Sunday morning after a local resident out on a stroll observed a headless, bloody body hanging out of the 21-year-old man's truck, Cobb County police said.

Hutcherson was due to make an initial court appearance on Monday.

Police said that Hutcherson and his friend, identified as Francis Brohm, 23, were returning from a bar outside Atlanta early Sunday morning when their black 1992 Chevrolet Z-71 pickup hit a curb near a telephone pole.

Brohm, partially outside the window at the time, was decapitated by a guide wire on the telephone pole, according to police, who recovered his head at the crash site. "Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor," police said.

A horrible story with tragic results :( personally I feel awful for every one involved. The individual who lost his life, the driver who will loose his freedom and family’s of the two involved. My prayers can only go out to all of them.

I never tasted Alcohol in my entire life, and I just can’t understand why people make fun of me for taking this smart choise although stories like the one here are all over the place in all parts of the world

I guess people never learn.

I have tasted it before but don't drink now. I had a bad experience in high school with it and I learned to not like it.
I have to much at stake to take chance on getting a DUI.

Although stories like this are tragic, alcohol is not to blame, the blame lies on the individual who cannot control how much is enough.

This is a good point. If it wasn't the alcohol, the person would find something else to use. Know when to say when.

My point is, is it worth it? Why do we need alcohol if it can create so many problems?

I’m sure a doctor would never recommend drinking alcohol, it destroys your health.

Even the smallest amounts of alcohol can still cause a lot of trouble. Can you drink one can of bear and get in your car and drive and pass a police officer’s alcohol test?

We already have idiots driving around carelessly while they’re completely sober; there is no need for alcohol to increase the danger of every day life.

If there was any thing good to come out of alcohol, then there would be a good reason to tolerate the problems it can create, but if it’s all bad, then why can’t we have the will power to just say no thanks.

The mind is the greatest gift one can ever have, why waste it with even a sip of alcohol?

Using your logic, lets also get rid of guns , how about fatty foods and how about we also get rid of all these fast cars that seem to kill people at will.Maybe individuals should take responsibilty for their own actions. How crazy would that be?

The whole Alcohol issue being good for health is a hoax.

Read this: http://www.benbest.com/health/alcohol.html

I know that there is some sort of analogy between the good and the bad of alcohol and the good and the bad of other things in life such as cars. But you do have to put it on a scale and measure up the benefits gained versus the problems created.

There are a lot of things one can argue whither they can be claimed good or bad.

Do you know the story about the taxi driver who was running around cutting every red light he sees and the passenger was screaming out load " why", " don't worry I'm a professional" answered the taxi driver. Then he saw a green light and stopped, the passenger asked him why did you stop now? The taxi driver answered "I'm making sure I don’t get hit by another professional". :D

Just try to convince a drug user that it's bad for him, and you'll get the general concept of wishful thinking people use to justify their actions.

I'm not accusing you or anyone else of wrong doing, but I do stick to what I think is right, and to each his own.

For me, no drugs, no alcohol, no smoking and thank you god for a good healthy body. :)

You took quite a leap there. wine <> alcohol.

He did not claim alcohol by itself improves your health, which is all the article you linked to talks about. He said a glass of wine has been proven to lower heart disease. It has been pretty well documented that regular moderate consumption of red wine is healthy. Red wine contains many things other than alcohol.

Sorry, not much of an alcohol beverage expert.

As for red wine, I bet there are plenty of other healthy beverages that one can resort to.

The ability and the "RIGHT" to make a choice is a wonderful thing, isnt it?
