How do I open the hood?

Seriously. I just got my NSX this weekend. It was a used 2001. As I read through the manual I noted that the spare tire was in the hood so I figured that I better know how to open it up.

I read the manual and have tried really hard to open the hood latch (after unlocking it from inside the car) and I just cannot do it. According to the manual the latch can get stuck and may need cleaning / lubrication. The manual describes how to do it yourself but if I can't even get the hood open I can't fix the latch.

Thanks for any help or ideas on how to proceed.

The latch slides to the left. Get down low so you can see it. It should be red and is slightly lower than you would expect. Just pull up on the hood and push the latch to the left and it should open easily. One of the harder to open hood latches I've come across. Especially if you have a bra on there.
