How can you tell if you have a bad Head gasket?
- Thread starter chumch
- Start date
1) Coolant in the engine oil
2) Coolant or steam coming out the exhaust
3) Combustion by-products coming out of the overflow tank,
checked with a exhaust gas analyzer.
4) Coolant or oil leaks from between the head and the block.

Coolant temp guage will look normal for about 5 min then will climb real fast to "H"
Loss of radiator fluid via exhaust and/or to overflow bottle

The sure fire way to tell is to perform a leak-down test.
