My buddy Joe owns a yellow NSX and we had a deal that I would polish his susp if he got me the parts (he owns a salvage yard) to fix the front of my car. He says I have to do it while the susp is on the car, which is impossible because of the tools and other things in the way, and wouldn't be worth it. He says he doesn't want to pull the susp apart because the alignment will be close to impossible to fix. If anyone has pulled the susp apart, please let me know how hard it was to fix the allignment, thanks!

Assuming you bolt it back together correctly, it will be no more or less difficult to align than any other time. He should know that. But the front suspension is not something you want to be pulling apart just for fun. It is quite the complex work of art and I wouldn't let an inexperienced person mess with it.

Kind of an odd request anyway, don't you think?

he has alot of the car polished and i learned how to polish recently (damn good at it too

). I offered sicne I thought it would be fun. I have an internship at a performance shop, Larry McNeil (famous supra mechanic, did Hulk Hogans supra, and many others) has 15 years experience and would be helping me pull it.

oh yeah, ive been trying to get Larry to get into the NSX scene, if anyone in the central florida area needs work, he is known as the best mechanic in florida, and he charges dirt cheap. As an example, most shops charge 1000+ for singel turbo swaps on supras, he charges under 500, and he is known for being able to do them in 4 hours. He is damn good at what he does, Hulk Hogan is bringing his Charger to get work done too. So if any NSX guys want a peice of his work, let me know, or call him at 407-366-1339.

There is 2 ways to do this, get it realigned by a respectable shop after all the suspension is put back in place or mark the alignment settings with a little paint and when you go to put the suspension back you will be able to line it up exactly as before.

Considering the car, I would not recommend approach #2. You can get close that way, and possibly even spot on, but even the slight tolerances possible when bolting up the fixed position pieces can result in measurable changes in the alignment. It's an NSX and deserves proper realignment, not to mention getting it wrong can cost more in tire wear than the cost of doing it right.
