Hongkong members! need ideas for this new years in hongkong!

several friends and I will be in hongkong for new years eve 2005/2006. I am hoping someone would know what is going on in the city for that night. What is the traditional celebration? normally big ball room parties or typically smaller house parties? any insight or connections would be appreciated!

Hold off a few weeks until Chinese New Year - that's when the party really begins!

not really, western NY is pretty good too, depends on what kinda scene you wanna catch. the newly opened HK Disney is already a huge hit now.

chinese new year is more than a few weeks man! can be up to a couple months depending on the year.

I am going for the western new year , then off to a full moon party in thailand. I thought the Chinese New Year was in Feb in 06. Hopefully the British influence still supports a good party!
