I didn't know if I should place this in the Southeast forum or here... but I figured this would be a good place.

First I'd like to mention it's not my honeymoon. However it is my very close cousins'.

Here's the scoop. He will be going down there in the middle of July and stay there for a few days before he goes to the Bahamas. I told him that I could count on this forum to recommend a few very nice places to go while he's there. Now note.. good places for a couple... last time I was there I went to places that only a single guy should go... hehe...

Ok.. I'm done.. all help would be so greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
xavier

The Diplomat Hotel in N. Miami, the Lowes in South Beach, and the Doral in Miami are all good for couples. There are a bunch of places on South Beach also, but I'm not too familiar with that area.

I'm sure Armando can offer some great suggestions.

It also depends upon what their interests are in terms of nightlife activities. Staying at the Lowes in South Beach http://www.loewshotels.com/hotels/miamibeach/default.asp would give them the ability to walk everywhere along Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road. Here are some shots of a walking tour I took while staying at the Lowes. http://RSO.smugmug.com/gallery/74957/1/2597017

An alternative to the north would be the Sheraton Bal Harbour. http://www.sheratonbalharbourresort.com However, aside from being able to walk across the street to a high end shopping mall they would have to drive everywhere else.

Here is a typical morning view from the Lowes:

Go for a stroll down Ocean Drive and Collins area. (South Beach) Stop at Mango's on Ocean for some live entertainment, and a few cocktails. Tantra and NoDoz are some great night clubs that go til the sun comes back up!!! May want to tell your cousin to wear mirrored sunglasses if he walks down the beach around the Setai and the Shore Club, because many topless beautiful women on the public beach!

They should also have dinner at Nobu in the Shore Club. The outdoor bar at the Shore Club is good for people watching at night. Here is a view from above of the interesting seating areas. Yes, that is a bed outdoors at the bar.
