Fisichella qualified 5th and finished 6th in the race, right behind Coultard!

Other Honda successes comes in the form of Sato finishing 10th and Panis placing 12th. Jacques' car's motor blew unfortunately. One can safely assume the new engine is better than the old one it replaced. Hopefully today's results pave the way to a better season next year.
On another note, seeing Honda Champ car engines going up in flames are common occurences this season. Franchitti suffered this fate twice in 4 races and so did Tracy. Ford and TOyota, on the other hand, are having a great season with better reliability this year. It seemed that the reliability role had been reversed for Honda. As much as I am a loyal Honda fan, I hope they get their acts together quick or they'll lose credibility in my book. Please excuse me for my digression.

Why did Honda dump Jordan instead of BAR? Jordan has scored points on a number of occasions this year and has shown improvement throughout the season. Fisichella is currently driving better than Jacque and Panis combined and is, IMO, one of the best drivers in the series this year.
At least I would have liked to see Fisichella move to BAR. BAR's performance this year has been embarassing. On the other hand, Honda's red-headed stepchild Jordan, has managed multiple successes this year with second-rate support compared to BAR. Fisichella could be finishing podium on a regular basis in a competitive car... something I can't say for the other Honda drivers at the moment.

Jordan Team exists since 1980 and is an historical team in today's F1 circus and they arrived 3rd in 1999 if I remember correctely. Eddie Jordan has the last word on almost everything.

BAR is a new team (2 or 3 years?) and never won anything...

Which one is more easily controlled by Honda?

Power by Honda,
Honda wants to have more control over the team and by choosing BAR they will able to do this (at the cost of a worse team to start with).
Jordan is not interested in having more pressure from the company that furnish the engine (Honda) because, as you also notice, they are already good enough. And they have a team manager with much carisma and very knowledgeable already.

No, I do not know that. But if Honda really wanted to focus on F1 they needed to keep supporting only one team. Two were too much work to do it properly.

Now, if also you want a team were you can be more than only the engine producer BAR was the way to go. Jordan would not have accepted that.

Your right, I was just reading in Racer the same thing. They had mentioned that Honda wanted to much control and Eddie Jordan was not going to accept that many hands in the kitchen....

I wonder how much money went over the table. BAR had to have asked asked for financial support as well. I heard they asked their drivers to re-do the contracts so they could do more R&D in the next year. Is this going to be a Honda "works" team like Toyota.

Four *same* cars on the field would be great. But here we speak about two very different platforms (chassis, transmission, electronic, suspensions, ...) and you have to do much collateral work twice for adapting the engine to the car.
I think that for Honda/BAR it will be a very long way to go: at the moment at least five teams are MUCH better than them and three are at the same level (in reality only Arrows and Minardi are inferior).
I would be positively surprised if next year we will end up with more than 15 points, in the middle of the constructors championship.

The Jaguars were consistently out qualified by the Arrows teams (when they showed up) using FORD engines!
